Amanda Marsden Salon & Spa

Lovely cut and member of staff but I’d driven all the way to Totnes from Exeter to use a voucher I’d been given. The Exeter branch has changed names so I couldn’t use it there. On presenting the voucher I was told it was no longer valid and there was nothing they can do. Cost of living is high, this is money in their pockets. It’s not good enough.

I have recently been to the salon and was looked after by trainee Kya and educator Chance. Kya was friendly and professional, making sure that I felt happy during my visit. Chance was there to help her along the way and it was so lovely to see the passion for what they both do. Even when I was being particular with the style wanted, they didn't make me feel awkward or unwelcome. I will certainly be coming back. The whole ethos of the salon is truly amazing. I look forward to seeing Kya progress into an amazing stylist in the near future.

After a few years of trying out new places have at last found a fabulous, such competent lovely hairdresser. Very happy and thankyou.

These guys fixed a hair cut that had gone horribly wrong. I'd had shoulder length hair and wanted a shorter, sassy fun haircut, but specifically asked not to go pixie short. So I was a bit bemused when she cut my fringe to above ear length... I suggested at that point we did an asymmetrical look. But it was too late. My once long hair had been razored and ruined and woke up in tears the next day. I called Amanda Marsden and they booked me in straight away. Melissa sat with me and assured me she would sort it out. And she did. I was almost in tears again when after a few snips the shape had returned and was actually looking classy! I've had the hair do a few weeks now... you know you've got a great cut, when even when you don't dry it properly, it sits properly. As a new customer I found this salon was not friendly. The hairdresser I had was very business like. She herself said she couldn't do very much to my hair as I was growing the layers down, so I had a trim not a restyle. I went for a cut knowing what I expected to be charged, and was horrified to be charged the cost of a cut (which was not cheap) plus more than half as much again. I think this was because she blow dried it, but she didn't ask me if I wanted this or tell me that it cost extra. The most minimal but the most expensive cut I have ever had!

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Amanda Marsden, it’s a lovely space and my stylist Lee was super friendly, efficient and informative. The space is lovely.. roomy but cosy, clean and professional but warm and lively. Loved having a massage chair to enjoy with my feet up for my shampoo! Lovely consultation and cut and very reasonably priced. The salon itself is easy accessible with step free access and straight off the high street. Parking (with RingGo) at the Nursery carpark enables you to walk just a minute across the road to the salon. Would fully recommend and will be booking again!

My overall experience here was okay. When I rang up I asked for a full head of highlights and a blow-dry and finish. The colour was lovely, no problem there. However, two things did niggle. When I had originally called in, I asked for a particular senior and she was unavailable for the days I wanted so I went with a different senior" . The price was still hefty so I was surprised when I was asked if it would be okay to get someone else to come and help put the foils in to save time. Its not really an option or a question

I've been coming to this hair salon since I was a kid and I always feel that I'm in the hands of professionals (this applies to all tiers of experience). The products help but the team always put in the extra effort to actualize what I want. I can't wait for my upcoming appointment!
