Coley Park Post Office

Some petulant reviews on this page.... This is a general store with a post desk, not a dedicated post office. It's one of the only places around Reading open late with a functioning Signed For machine which ís handy for dropping off packages on the way home from work. The staff cover both the general store till and the post desk so there's often a short wait, and they cash up before 8pm closing so assume 7.45pm is your last chance for mail. The staff have always been friendly and accurate on price with me. I'm grateful to have the late posting option at all....

I think the post office here is in a convenient location. However I have been overcharged so many times! I have been a high eBay user for over 6 years and I send around 350 parcels per year, I have used many post offices in surrey and london before I moved to work in reading and used to use the post office by the co-op. I measure all my parcels to ensure they can go as large letters" using the post office plastic guide donated to me by the woman who worked in the old post office. When I started using this post office I was told none of my parcels could go as "large letters" and had to be "small parcels" and the "rules had changed" but they seemed to be using the same size guide I had but I trusted them as they seemed a more up to date post office than my old one. Even tho I haven't sent THOUSANDS of eBay parcels and I have never ever had a customer complain that they had to pay because there wasn't enough postage - nor have I ever seen a stamp on parcels retuned to sender to say the postage was undercharged. When I had a day off work I went to a central post office in london who let me send all my parcels as large letters. So I decided to try a different post office in reading when I went back to work - low and behold they let me send them as large letters too! Won't ever use this post office again as it has left me out of pocket and I had sent over 25 parcels from here!! It's ANY shops duty to ensure the customer is paying the correct price - the prices here would put people off selling online because their customers won't pay the extortionate postage cost!"

Should not be on the map, absolute disgrace. Royal mail should be ashamed place like that holds their logo on the door.If you planning to use their service, do not waste time and fuel. not worth it

This is my personal experience using this post office during the festive Christmas period.The staff (girl blonde hair) behavior was not very professional at work.Except that she was very rude, did not serve first although I was waiting first in the line. Furthermore she tried to charge me more than I should pay for a normal letter posting.If I were you I would not choose this post office.Thanks

Was quite upset that staff were already cashing up when I arrived at 19:45h, which should have meant that I got there well before their advertised closing time. I then received an education in duration of such end of night procedures and that since staff is only paid until eight o'clock, this means that naturally such undertakings have to be started early. No apology, just blank faces. :-(

Absolutely disgusting. Certainly knows who the problem is judging by the posts Feel sorry for anybody who has to use this place. I will be writing to head office about the conduct and professionalism of your staff you should be ashamed of your conduct towards anyone who brings you business I certainly won’t may others won’t be either by the looks of it ps I say to you shop manager sort your conduct of staff out

I was not feeling well today, but I had to return the item(keyboard stand) from Amazon (I bought from) to this post office, I walked carrying the stand in the cold weather, there was about 15 15-minute walking distance from my house to that post office when I arrived and asked the staff to scan the item, they said they were not able to deal with the return, I was confused: if they were not able to deal with the return, why this post office address was written on amazon list, it was such wasting of time and confused the customer; In the end, I had to walk back with carrying this item in the cold weather--I am not going to return to this post office in future.
