The first gated entrance to the castle has statues of Wallace and Bruce either side of the portcullis gate , the ticket office and shop are the other side of the gate

Grand opening gates. Book online ticket to avoid queueing at the counter. Also opt for ticket printable tickets so you can use it over your phone to enter.

Lovely gatehouse to the Edinburgh Castle with beautiful view of the Edinburgh also nice royal details around the gate. You can see the Scots Royal history and Scots Royal Jewelery. You can visit also a prison. The place is worth to visit it. From the top of castle you can find amazing view and panorama of Edinburgh

The Gatehouse
The main gate to the castle is flanked by the statues of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Above is the Scottish Royal Coat of Arms. It's easily the most imposing castle entrance in Scotland and gives a hint of the size of the fortifications to come.Entrance ticketing is now done via a website. I'd advise booking your time slot in advance to make entry go smoothly.

We had our wedding ceremony and small reception in the gatehouse and it was really special! Everybody was super friendly and helpful at all times. If you're looking for a more intimate wedding venue, I strongly recommend this one!
