The Corinthian Plymouth - Parties, Weddings and Sunday Lunch
A lovely place with a view to pay for, this place certainly has a spark to it, and the workers seem lovely. They know their stuff when it comes to coffee, and as a coffee connoisseur myself, it was a lovely experience. They have a rich Italian, Latin blend that goes down smoothly, on par with some of the best coffee I've had so far.Though the first round of drinks were slightly cold, they were quickly replaced with warmer ones, due to the barista having complaints about them being too hot before.Clearly a caring and kind person, would come here again if I lived closer.

A RAT!!!! ran out of the kitchen, they ran out of food, poor food hygiene, manager had a poor response and they didn't cater for disabilities. We went to a £30 a ticket event to watch the fireworks and wish we didn't! The average customer was in the pensioner age range, but that didn't stop the management from running an extremely loud DJ set mostly consisting of dance and club anthems. Food was meant to be a buffet, but they ran out of food very early. There were at least 20 people in the queue behind us who didn't get fed. The manager initially didn't come out to respond despite his staff asking him to, but eventually we managed to corner him into a response. He kept saying that there was enough food (the kitchen were trying to cook chicken nuggets and chips) but the buffet tables were bare. No more sandwiches, salads and that kind of thing. The elderly lady behind us was coming out for the first time since COVID. She said she was promised a table but there were none to be had by the time we arrived. Many people who had food were having to eat off their laps. The manager eventually gave us a refund so we left to find food. I enjoyed the group of people haranguing him for their refunds! He kept insinuating that there was enough food and that everything was ok, while saying sorry - felt like he was trying to say it was our fault that we weren't enjoying the evening, yet he was the person in charge of it all. My parents stayed and said many more people got refunds and left. And then a RAT ran out of the kitchen!! They have reported the venue to the council. So avoid this place like the plague. Even if they are ok at quieter times of the year, the manager and owner do not deserve your custom and money.

Attend the fireworks on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Despite the few issues on the Wednesday, had an amazing time. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful venue, loved the boatyard area, where we could get a seat and watch the fireworks on both nights. Recommend both the chicken burger and the beef burgers! Will definitely be back in future. Thank you everyone.

The Corinthian is a quiet and exceptional stop for a coffee and cake when walking towards the Hoe along the Madeira Road footpath.Friendly bar staff with temperamental espresso bar for coffee. Delicious looking but few cakes available. From this vantage point you can survey the whole of Plymouth sound. Watching boat traffic of all types, paddle boards, sea canoes, jet skis to thru to multi masted yachts with spinnakers and out-boarded cats to fishing boats and ferries or ribs in and out of Sutton Harbour. We sat on the terrace looking out. We were delighted, sitting in the sun with the vista. Nice clean and uncluttered tables on the terrace. The terrace handrail obscures the view as it is exactly at eye level when sitting. The cappuccino and espresso coffee was a bit cool.. perhaps not using warmed cups from the machine top. I seem to have a single where expecting double espresso without sugar.. nice enough. Walnut and coffee cake a bit dry but tasty, blunted by the exception outward viewing action and lovely company.Thinking I could spend all day here sitting sipping coffee.. if only I'd had a no further things to do or a newspaper.Clean tidy toilets. Access corners and entrance slope probably difficult for wheelchairs but no steps.

We booked the £30 “VIP” option for the fireworks championships and it was the worst event we’ve ever been to. Horrendously organised, the food had run out by the time we arrived at 7:30 and there was nowhere to sit, the viewing platform was a tiny balcony that couldn’t accommodate all the people who had bought tickets and the organiser was absolutely adamant that it was fine and we had nothing to complain about. We cut our losses and left after about 40 minutes. One of our party has a disability and can’t stand, the manager was entirely unsympathetic to us when we mentioned this and told us we should have booked the £12 option, which for some reason was a way better deal. I want a refund.

Very friendly staff but looks like they are just getting started as a lunchtime drink venue. Worth dropping in for a coffee and their hot chocolate was excellent.

My cousin had an AMAZING wedding here. From the service to the afternoon tea, pasties and buffet everything was faultless. Beautiful setting for a beautiful day.Staff honestly couldn't do more to help - also very accommodating after my dog sitter fell through and made Colin feel very welcome.

The views of this location are absolutely stunning and the staff are great fun. But I would only value it 3 stars based on what you get for £30 per head. It's expensive for what it is but in the end what does it matter when you've got beautiful ocean views and even better company to have
