The Works

I love The Works, it’s my first stop for books and craft supplies, but the tills / staff don’t calculate 10% student discount properly. Took £2 off a £29 spend and 10p off a £21 spend!!!

New manager very rude and unhelpful in the richmond centre store. Thought he was somebody, get over yourself. Always bought all my craft supplies from this store, but will def not be returning.

Brilliant

Hugely disappointed. I don't get chance to go out shopping much these days so when I do, I make sure I know what I am getting.I checked The Works website and it stated the items we needed were at the shop in the city. I made arrangements to get into town and searched the shop but were unable to find any of the things I had listed. I spoke to one of the employees there who confirmed that they had no stock of any of the items despite it advising so on the website. I challenged him on this and I was told that The Works falsely advertises their stock all the time. My experience was proof of that. I obviously wasn't happy having made arrangements and travelled in specifically to pick up the things they claimed to have in store. The employee was very understanding and was not impressed The Works did this type of thing either.So for the many people out there who might have issues getting to shops etc. do not put your trust in this shop to have what you need even if they say they do!A wasted trip.

Lovely little bookshop, can be a little messy at times and can seem a little hard to find what you are looking for but overall it is good.
