Absolutely fabulous. The food was great. Gluten free halloumi fries - out of this world! The staff could not have been more accommodating and we had a great time. We will definitely visit again.

My third visit to this Cafe was by far the worst! Our first experience, just over a year ago was the most pleasant and it seems to have just gone further and further downhill since.I am currently 39 weeks pregnant and ordered breakfast for my partner and myself this morning, everything just seemed like too much effort! The guy (possibly the manager) on shift took our order at the bar, I asked for “well done” eggs on both breakfasts, asked to swap the bacon to a sausage (which seemed like I asked to move Mount Everest!) and a decaf coffee, all three requests seemed like too much hassle, almost got an eye roll for them! We were informed there was currently a 20 minute wait as they were busy, although not all tables were full. 25 minutes later we got our coffees, and 30 minutes after that we got our breakfasts after asking “how much longer?”. We wanted to cancel the order but was told it was just coming , so we accepted that and sat back down. For the full English breakfast we were served toast without butter that crumbled when trying to cut it (as if it was kept warm too long), burnt egg around the edges but runny in the yolk (I couldn’t eat this being pregnant), burnt, bland sausages and hash browns, and a mushroom that looked more shrivelled up than an elderly elephant in the desert! The eggs royale was served on a stiff, dry breakfast muffin, brown salmon (didn’t look too attractive or fresh!) and questionable eggs (my partner picked out some strange, wobbly brown blobs/balls out of it which put him off completely).Needless to say we were less than impressed! A waitress came to ask us “is everything okay?” I explained the issues which was met with “ah I thought that might be the case, I’ll let the manager know” …were they expecting bad reviews?! We waited about 5 minutes for her to come back with a response but got nothing, so ended up leaving with no sign of even an apology!We heard several others complaining and walking out during our visit, this will definitely be our last visit here unfortunately. Such a shame as it was nice last year!

I've been going to Copper on Mapperley Top since it opened, I understand it's recently changed ownership which might explain why the level of service and quality of food has changed so drastically. I ordered brown toast with jam and a sausage cob, I was told there'd be a wait as the kitchen was just opening (11am). The staff then came to tell me there were no sausages as the chef had forgotten to defrost them. All not a problem, until they bought out white toast instead of brown and a bacon cob with a very burnt cob, not just the top layer over toasted, as I first thought, but a deep burnt layer right into the cob. Why would the chef send that out? A member of staff came out to ask if everything was OK with the food, we showed her, but she didn't do anything.

Lovely place inside with nice decor, we ordered eggs florentine and an all day breakfast.Eggs were not runny at all but tasted nice, breakfast was nice, beans could have been warmer and in all fairness I’d have liked more beans.Coffee was excellent !!Would I come back again ?Sorry but not for me this time.

Excellent brunch. Very obliging. Moved tables around to accommodate elderly parents. Lovely food. Good atmosphere and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Local bar dinner offering good food and great breakfasts.Breakfast and drink under £11.00Afternoon visit, it can be busy so best to book in advance. Solo eaters welcome.Toilets available upstairs with a garden smoking area available.Local car parks available.

Early evening visit for myself and the wife. Unfortunately the veggie burger was not on due to a shortage of brioche buns (try the Coop next door), so I had the Buddha Bowl and the wife had the Scampi. Both dishes arrived quickly and were well presented and quite tasty. Service was really good and the meals, I thought were good value.
