Soldierstown car park
Beautiful little car park and picnic area. I have always got here by cycling along canal towpath. Starting adjacent to Moria train station, stoping here for a snack and then heading on to Aghalee. NOTE this cycle is a small detour from national cycle route from Belfast to Oxford Island. Great to ride away from traffic, plus wildlife swans, ducks swallows and the wildflowers. Be careful though it's a gravel path, take it easy on corners and don't lean to much. Enjoy the ride and stoping at the car park is a must.

There is a great path from here that goes miles, it is all tarmac so suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs etc. Great place for a dog walk

Great little car park and useful for walking the riverside. It would benefit from some car parking lines to mark the bays as sadly some drivers are selfish and have no regard for others.

A free car park ideally located for walks along the canal towards Moira railway station or along Broadwater and the canal in the direction of Aghalee.The car park holds approximately 15 cars provided people park considerately.There are picnic benches, bins and an information board in the car park.Just take care exiting the car park because of the narrow humpback bridge immediately adjacent to the exit.

Good clean car park.Dog waste and litter bin there.Great place to start your walk to Aghalee or Moira railway station.Lovely place to walk dogs beside canal and broad water.Lots of wildlife to observe at this time of year.

Good walk upto Moira railway station, should see swans, ducks, water birds, some herons and apparentley kingfishers although not seen the kingfishers at the moment ducklings and signets

Please note that the car park has been blocked off by the Lockdown authorities". This was a good place for me to park so that I could take my elderly Mother for a walk. She has mobility issues and this location made it possible for her to get a nice walk for mental and physical health benefits.These idiots in authority don't realise how their actions impact on those with mobility issues."

It's a nice walk from Moira Train Station to Aghalee along the Lagan Towpath and the small Soldierstown car park is half way between the two.
