Dynamic Earth
A place that is worth visiting if you are curios about the Big Bang and evolution of life. There is two types of tickets,1)For the exhibition and one planetarium show which is 30 mins.2)Just for the planetarium show

Dynamic Earth
A very interactive and guided earth history museum good for adults with kids over a variety of ages (10, 13, 15 enjoyed it in our group, but it looked appropriate also for younger crowd). It's very guided with timed transitions between rooms, so allow at least 1.30 hours to pass through it and come together if you are in a group - it's almost impossible to catch up later. We particularly enjoyed the time elevator and the lava.

During the 18th century, Edinburgh was one of the greatest scientific centres of the world, being a place where the idea of geological uniformitarianism was born. That legacy of scientific exploration and analysis has its 21st century ecological air in the dynamic Earth building. The building looks modern and sleek without being kitschy. It reminds me of the futurism in design that was extremely popular during the 1960s and 1970s, a time of unprecedented optimism about space and progress. As indicated by the name, the exhibits inside discuss growth and flux and constant transformation. Even the Scottish earth, the exhibit discusses, was formed in different waves over hundreds of millions of years, and even the rock to the north side of the island is much older than the rock to the south. Earth is not still and constant, but constantly morphing and transforming.

Great date spot, was worried it would be a bit short but there was lots more too it than I thought there would be. We booked the planetarium show afterwards (We are Stats) which was narrated by Andy Serkis which I highly recommend.

If you are curious about how our planet came to be and how it works, you will love Dynamic Earth. This attraction lets you witness the power of nature, travel across space and time, and even join a 4D adventure around the world. The staff are helpful and well-informed, and the exhibits are engaging and fun.Dynamic Earth is a great choice for all ages, but especially for kids who enjoy exploring and learning. It is situated near the Royal Mile and the Holyrood Park, so you can also visit other sights in Edinburgh. Dynamic Earth is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and you can get your tickets online or at the door. I think Dynamic Earth is a must-see for anyone who wants to have a fun and educational day out in Edinburgh.

Group of 3 of us in our mid 20s and we had an excellent time! The staff are incredibly friendly, approachable and knowledgable. Unlike most museums the food was excellent, with vegan and gluten free options. Also reasonably priced. The biosphere and exhibits are well thought out and take you on a guided journey of the Earths geological and ecological history. A great place for science nerds!

What an absolutely incredible place!!!!!I came to Edinburgh for the first time a few months ago and didn’t think we would be back so soon so crammed everything into one trip. I came back and was lost for what to do. I have never heard of Dynamic Earth or seen it advertised so was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem!!So immersive and absolutely incredible! The only downsides were one of the exhibits was seated so I took my baby out of his pram and was directed towards booster seats for him. These booster seats, however, were not appropriate for his age as there was no fastening and it was far too big for him so I felt the staff could do with being trained better in that area. There was also sadly no gift shop, I love a gift shop! But ah well. The place itself was incredible and every room was just amazing

I haven't been to Dynamic Earth in forever, and as it was a rainy day, I decided to go with a friend. Our unfortunate luck was that we decided to do this on the same day the Royal family decided to visit Hollyrood so taking the car wasn't ideal. The way in to find parking isn't very well signposted but after a few wrong turns we found it. It is quite expensive so be mindful if you are planning to spend a good few hours that you're charged on exit for however long you stay. The attraction itself is good, but literally exactly the same as when I went as a child. The videos that play, the pictures and pieces haven't changed in years but the overall feel of the place is great. I love the addition of the climate change issues and it definitely flows better now than I remember from my last visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the planetarium show was charming! I would definitely recommend it if you have kids or if you are just looking for something to kill a few rainy hours in Edinburgh!I would recommend booking online so you can pretty much gp straight in. We booked the same day we went so as long as there's availability you should be fine! I would also recommend booking your planetarium show either half an hour before or at least 2 hours after your tour- especially if you're with kids who want to spend time in every room, or a larger group who need time to let everyone experience every room! There is a small café area but the food is quite expensive so I would advise bringing your own or eating elsewhere, and there is a gift shop right at the end of the tour so be careful if you're taking kids as again, it's quite pricey!Overall, a nice day out and very nostalgic, but a little on the expensive side!
