Castle Ewen
Beautiful scenery. I've no idea what is going on geologically with the land here but it was stunning. Castle Ewen is actually a natural rock formation and not a castle. Bring good footwear and plenty of stamina.

A really nice place and great views at the top of the rocky outcrop ( just watch your step when climbing up there). The stones however were no where to be seen, either that or I'm blind. Other then that nice scenic views.

High point of the Fairy Glen, giving good views of the intriguing landscape of grassy mounds caused by landslips. Spent around 30 - 40 minutes looking around. Short but steep climb up Castle Ewen. Nice foxgloves growing around the lake in August. Reasonable size paid parking area, but best to visit early as it gets busy later in the day.

Magical place, very atmospheric when the clouds are low. Lovely views on the hike up from behind the Uig Hotel. Dont drive up the lane as there's not much parking and you miss great scenery from the car. Enchanting waterfall too. Castle? Certainly no castle!

We got there early in the morning by bus. It was a long walk, it could have been a short one, if the bus driver hadn't told us the wrong way to get there.It's a magical place, peaceful. I would have loved to spend more time going around the small paths

Not much of a castle left but what a gorgeous area to wander around. From what we read it can get very busy, but we lucked out and were the only car when we arrived! More people did start to join us later. The path to the castle is a narrow ridge, if. You are unsteady on your feet or afraid of heights it might not be for you.

An easy hike from the car park. Lots of cool little hills along the way. It's not a real castle but it does kinda look like it could have been one from a distance. If you're brave enough to climb to the top (I wasn't) you'd be treated to beautiful vistas all around, waterfalls, fields mountains galore. I acually came here for the Fairy Glen which was really cute, but stayed on top of the hill next to it for lunch.

took us some time to find it, and we ended up camping nearby without even noticing the place, it was beautiful in the morning. However, we were told that the rock formations were made by tourists are removed by locals, such a shame as the idea seemed interesting but had nothing to do with culture or mythology... Still a beautiful off the beaten track place to visit.
