Harcourt Gardens Care Home

Harcourt Gardens is an amazing care environment, with amazing facilities for both residents and families.The care team are attentive, helpful and amazing with residents - nothing is ever too much.

The home has excellent facilities and the environment is modern, bright and welcoming.However there is a problem with recruitment of care staff and too much reliance on agency/temporary staff. This can be particularly challenging for residents on the dementia floor who respond better to familiar carers that know them and understand their needs and individual requirements.The home is also let down by poor communication from senior carers to regularly update family members of any changes and this communication does need to improve especially for patients that suffer from dementia and have memory problems.They say that they have a timetable of activities that cater and support residents with dementia but in reality very little occurs mainly due to a lack of trained staff in this area and often the residents are all just sat alone in the lounge or in their rooms without much stimulation.Hopefully these are points that the managers can reflect on and improve.

possibly is the best nursing home i have seen so far in north Yorkshire,very friendly and professional staff,good management strategy,5* catering service in the horizon.

What a lovely place. All the staff were pleasant and a pleasure to talk to. Went on open day (unannounced) and visited a relative staying there.

Love to know that my relative is so well looked after in such a comfortable,safe and caring home.

I had a lovely warm welcome on arrival, the staff were amazing, as a visitor I was offered tea and cake which was delicious...

Lovely home . Residential. Staff are courteous. A place worth visiting if looking for a place for the elderly living.
