If you want a warm Winter welcome with good food, then this is the place for you. We were greeted by a pleasant Gentleman, having had a difficult journey from Lincolnshire. Fortunately we had booked, as this is clearly a popular pub. The food was delicious and service was good. We were joined by family who had also travelled some distance. It was well worth it. Two of us had beef, one had partridge and one had the burger. We couldn’t fault it and sadly only one of us had room for pud.Despite the distance, we would definitely return. With the log fire and cosy atmosphere, it was ideal. Thanks all.

Visited on sunday for 2 adults, 1 toddler and a dog. A tall man who I assume was a supervisor or manager took our order at about 2.05pm, and it wasn't until roughly 1 hour later that we received my starter of brie wedges. I cut into my brie and it was only warm, acceptable enough to eat but just disappointing after waiting so long for it, and I didn't want to send it back and wait even longer... Another 30-40 minutes later, and the mains arrived, which was such a long wait from when we initially ordered. We never intended to stay at the pub for this long. Nobody made us aware that our food would take this long. If we had been made aware of a wait, or aware that a mistake had been made causing delays, we would have been much more understanding, but it felt as though nobody cared to explain or apologise for the wait. On the bright side, staff were very friendly and the food tasted amazing, I have no doubt that we will be returning, but we just hope the staff communicate with us a little more and that service goes a little quicker next time.

What can I say other than amazing! Very welcoming, super accommodating for vegan+gluten free diets (despite zero notice). It wasn't curry or risotto! (Vegans will know that's a miracle) finally a nice homemade pub burger and chips! Thanks very much, recommended!

We had a lovely meal here en route to Ragdale Hall. A beautiful looking typical English pub in a quaint village. Makes our annual weekend trip even more worthwhile!

We dropped in here after having a trip out to Melton Mowbray on our way home and what a great place. The food was absolutely amazing, the chefs did a fantastic job. We sat in the lounge area which is a delightful part of the pub to sit and enjoy a good meal whilst you relax. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, I'll definitely be visiting again.

We visited this pub 3 weeks ago for a Sunday roast. I booked online and there was an option to eat in the bar or the restaurant.I chose the bar as it looked cosy on the pics with an open fire but we were put in a side room which was chilly and lacked atmosphere. The food was ok but my disappointment is more about the apathy of the staff..... particularly the gentleman that appeared to be the owner or manager. He was disengaged and not friendly. As a consequence there was no feeling of joy.My husband left his coat at the restaurant and when he called they told him it was there waiting for him to collect. When he returned today the staff ( including owner/manager who was sitting eating his lunch) couldn't be bothered to help him .His coat was nowhere to be found. My main point here is that the hospitality industry are struggling for sure. And what they should be doing is working hard to deliver first class service, rather than moaning about how bad the things are because people in this economic crisis are more discerning and will choose to go out to eat less but somewhere where the food and service are exceptional and memorable.I sadly won't return.

Fantastic Sunday Roast…the staff are so friendly and helpful. Very accommodating for dogs in the bar. Great selection of drinks and at a good price for the quality of food. Definitely recommend.

Lovely friendly country pub. Food was excellent. Special mention to the scotch egg, cooked to perfection. Great service and nice beers on tap. Overall I would definitely recommend a visit
