Good place to learn how to row at many levels, whether it be first time on the water or not at all. All necessary things are there, including toilets, water fountain, erg and changing rooms. Facilities aren't brand new, but aren't in any state of decay. It is also the boating place for Putney High School as well as Barn Elms Boat Club, and the boat storage area is shared.

I learnt to row at Barn Elms from 1974 to 1976 , best experience ever , I'm pleased to see it's still going strong!

Excellent Club with ambition to succeed. Apart from clubs like Thames Rowing Club. That decimated their junior team without any notice, Barnes actually takes pride in its junior team and is fully aware that it is an investment in the future. Tim and company are excellent and considerate coaches. My son is grateful and happy at the end of every session. Great sport! Great fun for the kids!

If was painfully unprofessional. We arrived at the facilities just to find that all the afternoon rowing plan we had booked would not happen. We had this experience planned a month ahead and booked and confirmed by email 2 weeks beforehand. No solutions or alternative were provided, just apologies by the only coach present in the facilities. He talked on the phone with the coach that was supposed to give us the lesson, but couldnt make him come. He talked about rescheduling for next week, and I told him that we had all that planned weeks before because one of us was coming from outside London and another 2 from outside the country. We had looked in several al places and we arranged for this one, giving up the other plans. We'd design and made a Polo shirt just for the ocassion, as one of the guys coming has a sentimental attachment to rowing - we actually planed all this for him, as I said, many weeks ahead, because he used to row in college.Very unprofessional

My 12 yr old daughter has done two 5 day school holiday clubs/courses here. She loved it, staff were friendly and professional.

Really disappointed, too many kids in the lesson to all go on the boat, so my son and another child were left unaccompanied on the bank side for 30 minutes in the dark, instead of rowing on the boat. Totally unacceptable.

Did 2 weeks of rowing over the summer a couple years ago and had a great time. Unfortunately one of the coaches was insanely rude to me consistently. Was to the point that other kids in the camp noticed and started standing up to me. Put a damper on the whole experience. Other than that would highly recommend and I learnt a lot.

I learnt to row here 56 years ago when a pupil at Tulse Hill School , South London. A changing room, no showers and clinker tub pairs, fours and a couple of rum tums to train in. A group of kids from land locked south Lambeth, we loved it ! Even the two old Boatmen, Ted Chitty & Jim Murphy , who wondered what had hit them when this group of Sarf London Oiks arrived, could not put us off. If it is an nth as good now, It must be b' marvellous!
