Pickfords Moving and Storage

Overall Pickfords got the job done swiftly and mostly took the stress out of our move.I was particularly impressed by the speed at which they took down and built up a cot, double bed and sliding wardrobe. The team were polite and methodical. Unfortunately there were a couple of accidents which caused damage to our new home, and the maximum payout for this is capped at £75 which has left us a bit out of pocket... I was disapointed by that policy in particular, and the sheer amount of documentation and hyperlinks (at a time when you need to be cutting to the chase).The people I dealt with were great, from Philippa who was very polite and helpful on the phone to the three delivery men who looked like seasoned professionals and made our move straightforward.Bottom Line: Expensive but good removal company. Premesis protection insurance leaves a lot to be desired considering the price of the service.

We had a two day move, and the lads who packed our house took great care, were friendly, and didn't hang around - it was surprising just how quickly they got us loaded. Unpacking at the other end took longer than they expected due to some awkward doorways, but they negotiated these eventually: fuelled by plenty of tea (white, two sugars).

Bad place work no staff

Apart from being bombarded by MoveIn touting for utility sign ups which were totally inappropriate in our case. It was a removal to storage and NOT a house move or change of tenancy.The service at the sharp end was excellent. We were concerned at having to send the acceptance form a second time a week later, as we are totally dependent on dates being met when they are booked. this did not give us great confidence before the event.

Absolute clowns. Mislabelled every both, packed multiple live plants UNDERNEATHother things and didn't bother grouping anything.One box labelled electronics had one extension cord but the rest was pillows. In what world does that make sense?Tons of boxes labelled with a single letter as if I'm somehow able to retroactively read the packers mind.Complete joke of a company, steer clear.

AVOID. The removal men where careless. Damaged 3 items, 1 a major item a Samsung 700mm Fridge freezer in which the freezer door did sustain a large gouge. We did supply all pictures, brands, serial numbers and now the Insurance company are wanting us to do all the leg work sourcing and pricing all the damaged items for them. I would certainly not recommend at any cost Pickfords to anyone.

I have only given 1 star as it is not possible to leave 0. None existent packaging which resulted in damages. Extremely poor customer service. Sometimes things go wrong and I rate a company by how they rectify a problem - stay away from this company!

Andrew, Arran and Shaun did a brilliant job moving us to our new home. They were really helpful and made moving home much easier.

Avoid this company, if you do use them ensure that they package for furniture properly and as advertised. Numerous items of property damaged!
