The Salvation Army

Opening times stated on Google and photos from shop as 5.30 close, arrived with sizable donation at 5.10 to find doors locked and staff counting up inside so a big wasted trip in the rain! Opening times unreliable.

This charity shop is a treasure trove - whenever I visit, I always find something new or different, and it is always packed with clothes, books and bits and pieces. I don't know how they manage to turn over so much; certainly, there is always new stock, and the prices are very down-to-earth. Worth a browse, certainly.

I have errands to do in Tollcross at least once a month, and I always leave an extra half-hour so I can have a good rummage here: you never know what you'll find. I often find good books and I love the bric-a-brac section. And the staff are always friendly and helpful. Today I wasn't sure about a lovely knitted coat which was much nicer than anything I would normally buy. One lovely staff member noted that she and I were a similar size, and offered to try it on so I could see how it hung. Nobody has offer made an offer like that in M+S or John Lewis! It looked terrific on her, and I'm so happy with both my purchase and the superb customer service I received!

Has a lot of nice things but their changing room" is a bit of a joke

I have been in the area visiting the shop about 10 years now. They have been going from bad to worse in terms of quality vs price. You can find stained tops and jumpers with bobbles for very expensive prices. The rails are full of clothes from budget clothes stores but are sold in higher prices than the actual store sells them as new. I wanted to speak to the manager about it, but as I knew the answer coming, I did not even bother. Is this a charity shop actually or a normal shop like any other, trying to make ridiculous profit by selling scruffy items? And it is not just this store but all Salvation Army stores. What a shame!
