Rudest landlady I’ve ever encountered. Wouldn’t accept my £10 for my drink as I didn’t have the right change it was hardly a £50! Stop pouring my drink and told me to go elsewhere. The pub was extremely dated, grubby looking and in need of a refurb.

RUDE and UNHELPFUL LANDLADYWe frequented here today for the first time in a long time. The last time i did the lady was rude. Today my daughter popped in for a drink with her grandfather. She then attempted to use the toilet and was she couldn’t. My 11year old proceeded to tell her she needed it and was was uncomfortable and she replied not my problem. The gentleman is nice shame she has to be so unhelpful. Also no cash so can’t give change and can’t pay by card either. Our family have been coming here for years. I will never give my business here again. Go the Stag lovely place

It is very rare I leave a 1 star review but wow, this place really deserves it! Called in at around 4pm yesterday after a long journey, from the outside the pub looks lovely, inside is very dated and shown no love whatsoever! Still, I am committed now and I am looking forward to a G&T and the hubby a pint.At the bar I asked what flavoured gins did they have? The rude woman in the corner replied they are behind the bar!" Not exactly helpful as I am struggling to see the writing on the cheap bottles. The bar lady however said she had a rhubarb which I said would be lovely and to make it a large one. She then picked up a wine glass (the gin glasses was underneath) I asked if I could have a gin glass and the landlady shouted OMG! WE ARE CLOSING IN A MINUTE SO YOU BETTER DRINK IT QUICK!!!I told them to leave it then as I was planning on staying for a few drinks!Went across the road to The Stag and had amazing service with a smile.I do not know how this pub has remained open after reading the reviews

AVOID AVOID AVOIDIf there was an option to give a -1 I would. I have never met such a rude landlady before! Visitors to the area, walked in for a drink after a lovely coastal walk from Amlwch (which I would recommend) to be greeted by ‘What do you want’. Made to feel very unwelcome. I didn’t stay and buy a drink, why should I line the pockets of such a rude lady!

Thank god there's a sign saying no food! Unfriendly staff, lounge bar stank of damp and blimey you should see the state of the ladies loos and the dirtiest old carpet I've seen ever.

Feel reluctant to give a star, this place is a joke, called in for a couple of beers, when I ordered she just tutted, like she couldn't be arsed, my wife asked to use the toilet, and was told its upstairs, then she said, there is some free toilets across the road, and it would have been cheaper to go across the road rather than buy a couple of beers here, I told her I fancied a drink, then asked if I was from Yorkshire, yes I was, another funny look from her, then was told that she doesn't accept card, also the toilet was disgusting, also first time, a full size bath in the toilet, very strange.Avoid at all costs

Have to say, we were very disappointed.Reading previous reviews, we were hoping for the rude and surly landlady. We got the opposite, pleasant, friendly and polite bar staff, and one of the best pints of Guinness we've ever had too.A nice, old fashioned village pub, the way it should be!Perhaps we got it on an off day! ;-)

If you are ever in the town of Cemaes bay in North Wales, this should be a place you need to visit, a very Welsh welcome, a friendly landlady and a scrupulously clean modern pub, if it was possible to give a 6 star rating this place would certainly merit it.

We called in well it was damp, smelled of damp couldn't drink all my pint I saw the review by someone called Fred foxhall he said he would give it 6 stars if he could, you need to get out more if you think it is worth 6 stars then all the other pubs in the town must be 10 star, its the worst pub I've ever been in

This pub serves the best Guinness on the island. This is tested by myself and I should know being Irish. The standard of it is high. Other places serving it should ask them how they do it. Well done.
