This place is a great little getaway run by Catherine Thompson & her husband Peter, and as well as bed & breakfast they have a coffee shop serving an assortment of tasty homemade cakes. I stay there with my family a couple of times a year or as a stop off if I'm on business in Scotland. Catherine & Peter are really friendly and fun to chat to with great local knowledge of things to do. Their place is a stop off on the penine way and popular with walkers. They serve great home cooked food and have a licensed bar. I highly recommend to anyone going up that way.

Stayed twice now both times food brilliant and the shandy the barman made us was just what was needed to bring us both round after the long hot slog over the cheviots

It's a very nice secluded area to stay at with the trans Pennine way close by and some routes around the place however it is a bit far to travel to certain places. Overall the accommodation was alright however it could use some more cutlery for the kitchen and the hosts were great and friendly.

Great place to stay, fantastic cottage. Right off the A68, a good base to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders
