Dart Charge

Absolutely disgusting human beings , thieving parasites 24 hours is unacceptable then straight PCN! I have just been informed that my team have gone through the crossing went to pay 4 hours over they have already started the process to steal you money.

Dart Charge is currently in a total mess - they don’t know their a*** from their elbow. After the change of ownership I re-verified my payment details as requested. Despite this I’ve received a PCN for a crossing made since. I phoned up a few weeks ago to complain and reconfirm my CC details to pay the £2.50 for this crossing. All done, so I thought. Today, a PCN reminder in the post telling me they are yet to receive payment.A total shambles.

Used to be efficient just to call up and pay for your crossing, simple process, tap your card details but lately this service has gone to pot, and left to wait on the phone to speak to a representative. On hold for an age with depressing background music. Gave up in the end and hung up. They try and force you to get an Account but I don't need an Account. I didn't want to pay online. Decided to drive M25 North in the end and avoid the toll adding to carbon footprint.

Made the crossing and tried for days to pay using the .gov portal, said the site was down. Eventually managed to pay, I was told I would receive a receipt for the payment via email, it never arrived. I was given a payment reference number. A couple of weeks later I receive a penalty notice, I give them the payment reference number and they have no record of the transaction. So now even more hours wasted challenging the fine. Never again!

Terrible service. It unbelievably took multiple years to solve a problem with them.They are quick to fine you, but their website wont tell you if you if and when you used and need to pay. Essentially you blindly have to shove money in your account to pre-emptively defend against fines.

I requested a refund on the prepayment discount on some crossings over 2 months ago (the database wouldn't let me add the lorry registration so I wasn't able to obtain a discount through prepayment through no fault of my own). Today I receive a generic email apologising for the delay in replying to my query with a list of FAQs. Dreadful customer service, if Dart weren't operating a contract monopoly they would have gone out of business with this level of service.

Always paid for crossings using auto pay, they have taken payments when iv not used the crossing, They assured me this is impossible ( after being on hold for 3hrs) 2 weeks later I get an email saying I had been wrongly charged. this has happened many time but you can never talk to anyone to have the problems resolved.

Appalling service!! Received a fine 3 months late (completely forget to pay) so we ended up paying the £35 fee, then two weeks later we receive another for the same crossing! Challenged it, staff wasn’t bothered, useless and rude, expecting to pay another £35!! Where is that money going, the bridge was paid for years ago

Purely a scam. Paid 3 times for 2 crossings (1 receipt received), couldn't pay the first crossing as the website didn't work at the time. Forgot when I got to our destination in France late that night. Paid as soon as possible, Sent in representation online 3 times, have evidence of this, but still getting letters telling me to pay and the fine is increased. Phoned multiple times, told to submit representation again, that they cannot arrange for letters to be resent, cannot email either, and that they have responded to my representation which what a surprise I haven't received. Another warning letter received, phoned again, to be told after telling them I have bank statements, screenshots, evidence, etc.. that they will cancel it and they apparently sent an email there and then, which what a surprise I haven't received. Google it, its a scam, designed to trip people up and take our money. Millions and millions being made by the scam - google it.Hate this country. Used to love it

Been using dart charge account for work for years no problems. Since the system changed it has been a nightmare. The auto top up on our account is the same as it has always been, but I keep getting told the account has been suspended as not enough funds. THEY are allowing the balance to drop below the £10 limit not us. Now I have to top the account up manually or pay the full price for crossing. Contacting them on 20th August still no reply.18.10.23 - Update - Still haven't received any response to my email, which I have resent three times.The account still isn't being topped up automatically so I have to top up manually after receiving a text and email telling me my account has been suspended because my balance is too low, even though the limit is set to top-up before it falls below £10.I have checked my payment card details, even deleting them and reentering to see if this helps, but no. Also this is the same card I use to top up the account manually. Think I have to accept that the Dart charge will now never be topped up automatically. Its a shocking service and as we have no choice but to use the crossing have no options.
