The Guildhall York

An interesting conference venue. Like a church due to its medieval design and stained glass window, but a hall for the Guilds of York built or updated much later. A definite plus for the international visitors to the workshop. The strained glass window includes early steam engines so probably a late Victorian update? The toilets are in a modern updated part of the building fully accessible and 21st century. The sound system was good and catering on the good side of standard. The WiFi was very variable, l and several others either couldn't connect or had very intermittent access and slow speeds, but others seemed to get a good internet service. Overall an excellent place for a meeting.

An astonishing 15th century building, fresh from a three year restoration, it is a wonderful indoor space. The roof is a fabulously decorated wooden structure, supported by heavy, carved wooden columns. There is as much stained glass in the windows as in plenty of churches.Not sure what the opening hours are but there is a good Christmas craft fair there at the moment, with much classier things than in the main fair on Parliament.

A beautiful restoration, looks great. The main hall is fabulous, especially the stained glass window. The cafe serves good food and good coffee, the room where you eat is very smart but lacking in character, it does have great views of the river.

Sited on the River Ouse, this is a most handsome building, built in the 15th century. Restored in April 2022. Had an opportunity to wander around on York's first York Unlocked" weekend event. (More

Fabulous venue, holding a craft fair. Not easily noticeable from the path/road, so really useful having someone outside (bashing a tambourine!) and pointing it out. Beautiful building with information boards. Cafe, with a lovely, seperate room overlooking the River, with tables, chairs and sofas. A lovely peaceful setting given the Christmas madness all around. Toilets etc. Spotless.

Stunning building, I was there with work doing a job. Loved the old craftsmanship in the main hall.

Attended a wedding here in July 2023.It was magical.Outstanding food .All staff were great.Such a fabulous venue.5 star all the way

Go there during OpenYork days, it's gorgeous! Beautiful wood columns, stunning glass, fantastic history, and a beautiful council chamber. How lucky are the people who work there.
