We stayed in the Bothy. Just the job, walking distance to the town and lots of space for the dog to run around.Lovely host.

Lovely place to unwind, beautiful views and accommodation at the Hen Hoose was perfect. Run by Carol and her husband Dereck. Great family. Would highly recommend this place. Kept my son of his xbox for whole week too, so definitely worth it.

We keep coming back here, friendly and scenic, lots to see and do all around, and Carol runs first rate very modern accommodation in the lovely renovated old farm buildings. Dogfriendly too, absolutely spotless and has views of Cairnsmore or the Cree from all the windows. And then there's. the rabbbit field and the occasional fox.....

Perfect place to relax. Lovely hosts, good location and the accommodation was immaculate. Thanks for a fab stay.

Brilliant place .Very clean and spacious . Dog friendly . Everything you need for self catering and in close proximity to amenities . I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday . I would definitely recommend .

Lovely place to stay with 2 dogs. Nothing too much trouble and everything you needed for a week's stay. Just the small things like washing and dishwasher tablets, and tea coffee and sugar make life so much easier on arrival. Lovely comfy bed with amazing views all round, a safe shed to put our bikes in and a lovely paddock to walk the dogs. Excellent

Very lovely and excellent break away, it's great for a time away from your normal every day routine. Nice and peaceful location and run by a lovely family.

I've been staying at the Nether Barr with host Carol & Derek for the last 15 years. Nothing is too much trouble for Carol. We have 4 dogs who love their stay there. Town is only a 15 min walk or local taxi is £4.50. Great base for exploring the area. Plenty of walks, Glentrool loch walk, Cairnsmore of Fleet & The Merrick will give your lungs a workout. For a small town, Newton Stewart has its fare share of bars/hotels that serve drinks & good food. Creebridge is a must for a meal out along with a visit to the Indian restaurant. Travel to Portpatrick & visit the Mount Stewart Hotel, stunning views with food to match. Newton Stwart has plenty to offer & if you're not sure, ask Carol or Derek. Fantastic place to visit & is fantastic setting & best value for your money around in Dumfries & Galloway.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely, spacious accommodation (The Hen Hoose) in spectacular surroundings. Very close proximity to great loch and forest walks, aswell as beautiful beaches. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.
