Parking at the side of the road; good start/ finish point for Cheddar Gorge loop 6km. We went clockwise - and then added 3 km loop east up “nature trail” to Velvet Bottom Reserve. Red route has wonderful views (see pic) and is peaceful after relative crowds on Cheddar loop. Total 9km 2hrs 34 at moderate fast pace (excl picnic stop!)

Ideal place to park up when you can find a space. It's free, but only little, with limited room for cars. It's by the roadside at the bottom of the Gorge tail. The the steep Rocky path will take you to the top to see awesome views.Well worth it...

Great spot to park to walk nearby for free but limited spaces (about 12 cars or so?). There are quite a few laybys as you carry on down the road into Cheddar but these involve walking on a fairly busy road with narrow/no pavement (doable but just to be mindful of).
