I didn't stay here as I'm an Islander, I only come here for the fishing. If you want peace and quiet, with tranquil views this is the place to come, and the fishing is top notch too. Well stocked lakes, with abundance of Carp, in prime condition. Done a lot of fishing here in 2022. This was my first trip of 2023, the surroundings are just as beautiful as ever, and the fishing just as good, I'll post a picture of my biggest Carp, although I caught quite a few. The cottages for holiday lets look beautiful, especially if you have a young family, to watch a working farm with lots of animals

Had a great holiday staying here. Friendly and helpful staff and the accommodation was fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough!! Great location, you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere and close to everything.

Never actually stayed there but I did have two days fishing on their ponds and I can honestly say they were the best days fishing ever. Such a glorious spot and just five pounds a day What an absolute bargain. When I visit the IOW again I'm definitely going to give it another visit.

Beautiful place, so calm and peaceful. The Oats was cute and compact, cosy and spotlessly clean. It was so warm and welcoming too.A wonderful place for families to sit back and relax. The animals all look loved and well cared for.We were with the group doing the Ultra Challenge, raising money for Young Lives V Cancer. Nettlecombe farm was perfect for all of us.Thank you for having us at your beautiful farm. xx

I was on holiday on the island and fancied a few hours fishing. I fished the top pond in the first swim, could see fish just 2 metres out so fished the pole on banded pellets loose feeding micros.Caught about 60lb of carp up to 4lb 8oz in 2 1/2 hrs !Great place to wet a line and very tranquil!Only myself and one other angler there.

We stayed at Barley cottage, the first thing to say was that it was spotlessly clean even down to the kettle and oven so a big thank you to the cleaning staff. The cottage was well equipped and the bedrooms were large with plenty of space for clothing and comfortable beds not saggy or tired and worn out. Each cottage had its own private garden area which was nice. We took our dog and were pleased there were no silly rules except not to get on the furniture or beds which is perfectly sensible and correct. We didn’t see the owners during our stay but when there were some minor issues they were sorted out very quickly like finding the fridge door handle was broken when we arrived. There are a number of walks and bridleways from the cottages if you have a dog. There was a kiddies play area which although we didn’t use was well equipped. Our Granddaughter was only 5 months old so too young to appreciate the animal feeding but I would imagine it would be a big hit for younger ones. The fishing lakes are used by residents and day tickets I didn’t get to fish as much as I would have liked but they seemed to be popular and plenty of fish being caught, I didn’t see any litter by the lakes, although they could do with a bin at the entrance so fisherman can dispose of any rubbish. As previously stated WIFI would be an asset particularly as reception was so hit and miss. We did have some frustration with trying to find how the oven and some other gadgets worked as there were no instructions to hand , only finding them on the last day laid in a cupboard in the kitchen, whereas they should be either with the welcome pack or left in plain sight. So in conclusion we had a lovely stay, it was quiet and just what we wanted being left to our own devices. Would we return, yes without hesitation and as we didn’t manage to cover all we wanted on the Isle of Wight we are looking to book next year.

We loved our stay at Nettlecombe farm, despite the rainy week we'd chosen to go to the Isle of Wight. The kids loved feeding the farm animals, the cottage was spacious with incredibly comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and everything you might need for young children - stair gate, bed rail, cot, highchair and stomping round the farm was great fun. The activities on the island itself feel like they were all designed with young children in mind and many of them are just a short drive from Nettlecombe - blackgang chine, Godshill model Village, the donkey sanctuary, to name but a few. A perfect holiday with toddlers.

A fantastic setting with daily animal feeding which our children loved. We are already looking forward to returning next year.
