Amazing care. Amazing staff who looked after my dad in his final days. Not only did they look after my dad with care compassion and love but they looked after his family. All the staff were amazing from the carers to the hosts who served the food. Thank you Mill View for making such a hard time the best it could be. X

My aunt was applying for a place in this home , she has dementia and is in hospital waiting to go into a care home .mill view went to assess her and then refused to take her because she has been aggressive to staff when she first went into hospital , she has been fine now for 3 weeks which the hospital told them .mill view still refused her saying they didn't think she would fit in with their other residents .after reading the previous review and an article in the telegraph on Google about one of their carers being jailed I am now glad they refused her , there are bad reports all over the internet about abuse in BUPA care homes .I was not impressed when I visited the home , there was a smell of urine , the rooms were tiny with tiny what looked like camp beds in them , they looked like prison cells .there is an advert on television about dementia which finishes by saying life doesn't end when dementia begins " obviously mill view think it does

I cannot praise Mill View enough for the care and attention that they have given to my mother so far. The staff have been excellent and attentive to my mothers requirements and nursing needs. Prior to entering Mill View Care Home my mother who has advanced dementia, was violent, abusive and prone to wandering in her own home environment. She was a real danger to herself and those nearest to her. Mill View has given her a more tranquil and controlled environment which has gone a long way in pacifying her, and improving her quality of life & dignity.

Good and bad. There is a smell of urine all over the place, and considering the floors are mainly not carpeted, is not acceptable. The staff are generally very caring, and always around in the lounge. What stood out for me this Christmas was that none of the patients got a present from the management. Even a bar of chocolate each would have been a gesture. There seems to be money for decorations and dressing up, but nothing for the poor souls who never get a visit. Also, they didn't even give a lady a birthday card on her hundredth birthday. The Queen did and her family did, but not them. Quite disappointing really. Most of the staff are lovely, but some seem disinterested.

You wouldn't do it to your dog... yet another Bupa care home slides downhill. If you don't believe me, read Beyond the Facard by Eileen Chubb or pop 'Bupa abuse' in google and I promise you for ever news story there are over 500 more cases of neglect that go unnoticed and unreported... for the real truth you'd have to check the death rates. Keep your loved ones close.
