Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school - Tavistock

I can without doubt or hesitation recommend Tavistock nursery. This place and the wonderful people in it are genuinely excellent. Our children have excelled through guided learning and play, and made heart warming relationships with the staff. All of whom are kind, caring and go above and beyond in their endeavours with the children.My kids, as well as myself and my wife, will miss them dearly now both our kids have moved on to 'big school'.

Both of my sons have attended this nursery from the age of 7 months. We were very nervous with our first as he had only just turned 7 months however we need not have worried. As soon as we entered the front gate we were made to feel at ease straight away. We really liked the fact that all the ages are separate as other nurseries we have visited had children from birth to two years of age were all in the same room. We our eldest started reception his teacher told us that he was already meeting all of his milestones until the next term and it is hugely down to the team at Tavistock! if you are thinking of putting your little one into a nursery I can honestly say look no further than Tavistock.

My daughter started this nursery a few months ago and I couldn’t be more happy with the care and attention she receives! She no longer gets upset either which is very reassuring. She has an amazing bond with her key worker who is fantastic and so patient with her. I could not fault any of the staff. The room and environment is always calming, cosy and very appealing. The new security system that came along with the brand new refurbishment is also very reassuring meaning no one can enter the building without permission first. I would 100% recommend this nursery to anyone who needs help with childcare!!

This nursery is fantastic. My son adores it here and adores all the girls and staff. The office staff are amazing at sorting things out and helping to respond to any issues etc. They go above and beyond to help you and ensure the children are having an amazing time, and developing well. My son has come on leaps and bounds since starting and I credit nursery massively. I’d recommend to everyone. The new renovations also look amazing!

Staff mostly seemed nice, the building was under renovation as we went to view it although dated I'd like to see it once that's all done.Two incidents happened however that I cant look past, the first incident was when myself and my fiance entered the site we got in without absolutely no issue, the bell didn't work for any staff members to see who is attempting to enter the site no staff members approached us as we entered to see who we were which is a massive concern for us.The second incident occurred shortly after entering the site we noticed one of the staff members shouted and went to yank one of the little girls towards her luckily the girl got past her with no issue the staff member looked embarrassed once she noticed they were parents on site.So for those reasons we have decided not to go with this preschool, unfortunately very disappointed.

My name is Neil, and My son John has been attending the nursery for nearly a year.I can honestly say it has been a life line for Myself and My wife.From Lisa the Manager, Sophie, Jess, Deena, and all the staff so many to mention (SORRY IF I'VE MISSED YOU's OFF) ..you know who you all are x.I can say the 1 Star review was not just a surprise, but I thought it was uncalled for and unwarranted.They treat our son like one of their own, he is cared for, loved, and made to feel really special, and really looks forward to going to nursery aswell.And regarding his development and care plan I have nothing but the very highest regard for all involved.So from a very proud Father... to you all.....THANK YOU SO MUCH

This nursery has to be described as nothing but excellent. When I had to return to work after 10 months, I felt under immense pressure as a first time mam to find the right care for my son. We arranged meetings with all the Nurseries in the area but nothing clicked. However from the minute I walked into Tavistock House Day Nursery and met with Gillian and Jackie, all my anxiety and stresses about leaving my son subsided. I felt like I was leaving him with family and I knew they would love him and take care of him as if he were at home.Some of the unique selling points for me, was how secure the nursery was, they would scan your thumb print to enable access to the building, there was CCTV in every room in the nursery, so if your child wasn't settling you could sit in the office with the staff and watch the CCTV and see how the nursery nurses were cuddling your child until they settled, which put you at rest. My son had a daily diary which would tell me what kind of day he had, what he ate, his interest, how long he'd slept. If my son had a bad night or felt off colour I could ring and speak directly to the room to see how he was. They work on a rotation basis so the children are not in the same room all day, the fantastic garden, soft play room, music and dance room and sensory room, kept my son interested all day.As he grew, he would move up with his friends to the next room, they would do visits weeks before the room transition to ensure that my son was comfortable in his new surroundings, ensuring that he had no anxiety's about such big changes in his little life. The nursery would arrange parents evenings in which I was shown my sons learning journal, with pictures of him as he was growing and they would tell me about his personal development and answered any questions I may have had. My son benefits from weekly Yoga, Spanish, and football classes which he lovesAs a working parent one of the greatest benefts of Tavistock is the wrap around care, I drop my son off at 8am in the morning and pick him up an 6pm and he has the most exciting day.My heart breaks as he now leaves Tavistock in September 2016 to start Reception. I have grown to love this nursery as they are now a massive part of our lives. The warmth, love and proffesionalism of the staff is unbelievable, their passion for what they do is seen in the kids they take care of every day. My little boy has grown into a polite, intelligent, confident little boy and I owe it to the staff at Tavistock.This is not a nursery it is a family and I would recommend it to everyone.

My eldest son attended Tavistock 11 years ago and my youngest son attends now. Tavistock is not near my place of work or my home, but the quality of provision makes it worth the extra travel time. Both of my sons have additional needs which were and are met to the highest possible standard. Staff are welcoming, friendly and conscientious, highly trained and knowledgeable in their field. Many of the same staff remain from my eldest to my youngest attending which is a sign of a healthy working environment in my opinion. The learning environment and resources are well thought out and match children's interests creating an enabling space for development. The secure entry system provides extra peace of mind. I have recommended this nursery to many friends and will continue to do so.

Absolute brilliant nursery! My little boy has been in the baby room for about 6 month now and he loves it! His development has came on leaps and bounds since starting here. The staff are brilliant and are always lovely! Makes going to work so much easier knowing how well my little boy is looked after.
