We employed Penhaligon Renovations to fully renovate our 3 bedroom flat in Porthtowan over an 8 week period from February 2018. We wholeheartedly recommend Ryan and his team to anyone looking for builders to do a renovation. From the outset we were very impressed with the detailed work Ryan put in during the quotation process, giving us significantly more information than other quotes, including 3D images of the proposed kitchen layout. This, combined with his positive communication via telephone and his offer to show us his current renovation project (which showed excellent workmanship) all meant we were hopeful the project would proceed smoothly. One selected to do the work Ryan worked diligently to finalise the specifications for the project, offering us advice where needed and providing us with different pricing options for various aspects of the build to assist with budgeting. As we were procuring the work remotely, Ryan was on hand to discuss it via telephone whenever required. The work itself consisted of ripping everything out (even the walls, ceilings and some floors) and starting again. We visited the project once during the eight week period and were greatly impressed by the professionalism of the whole team. Throughout the project we had regular updates by phone and email, including photos of the project. As with any building project, there were a few unforeseen challenges to work through. These were dealt with well with Ryan phoning to explain the potential issue, his recommendations and ball park cost and he followed up with an email quotation. It is in these moments that it would be easy to feel frustrated but Ryan dealt with them in such a way that actually increased our belief in him and his team. There was no sense of feeling like we were being asked for things that could have been anticipated before work commenced and Ryan always gave us his opinion on the merits of proceeding down different routes, both from a time and cost perspective (including proceeding without the extra work). When towards the end of the project we were very keen to hit a certain completion date (despite the extra work that had been required), Ryan increased the number of people working on the project - at one point having 9 people in the flat. Once all the work was finished Ryan followed up on some last remaining items he agreed to assist with (putting up mirrors, dealing with minor snagging items etc) promptly and professionally. We love the completed flat. The workmanship throughout is excellent with an attention to detail that shows a real pride in their work. If you are reading this looking for a builder to do your renovation project, look no further. Book Penhaligon Renovations.

Ryan and his team built our extension and remodeled our bathroom and toilet. They provided guidance and advice from the outset along with a detailed schedule and we were kept updated throughout the build. The team had a very strong work ethic and they were highly professional producing work of the highest quality. We are very pleased with the extension and bathroom and we would happily use them again and strongly recommend them.

We employed Penhaligon's Renovations to do the first phase of our property renovation. We asked them to quote on three different structural jobs and were very impressed with Ryan and his team. He understood our need to budget and facilitated this with an excellently detailed quote breaking down the jobs.We ran into unforeseen issues with our wall needing to be lime rendered. Ryan was accommodating in amending our invoices and payments to get the lime done from another provider as he wanted us to be happy with the job.The team's work was efficient and tidy after having a few bad experiences; this was a welcome change. We were kept apprised of team schedules so that we always knew if there was a change. We would wholeheartedly recommend Penhaligon's Renovations and will be contacting them again when we move into the next phase of our renovations.

Taking it from the top. Chimney pointing weeds taken out but it appears not repointed despite scaffold, so plants now grow. Extraction fans in roof disconnected and not reconnected as instruction.Fully functioning air conditioning units removed contra to instruction and then Penhaligon tried to charge £900 for putting them back but they don't work. House plumbed for three zones but PR put in a boiler for 2 zones. Plumbing work undertaken by Penhaligon personally condemned by Building Control as it was potentially dangerous. Soil vent pipe put in wrong and had to be re-installed. Plumbing fittings to bathroom missing on this floor and wash basin cracked. Wooden fire doors not prepared and finished to an acceptable standard. 2nd floor. Specified paint (acknowledged by PR) not used and cheap imitation substituted. Wrong door locks fitted (impossible to open doors) painting not to acceptable standard. Screws from dry lining protrude into windows hampering operation. More plumbing fittings missing in family bathroom. Strange switching arrangement for fan.Floor poorly fixed. Substitute varnish on floors used and inadequate coats. Both bathroom floors were left in a very poor state with ingrained footprints and stains.WC in both bathrooms leaked. Specified basins but PR tried to substitute with another. Shower tray in En Suite sagged and caused leak. Waste plumbing currently suspect. Bespoke skirting and dado rail massively over ordered. Water main hidden behind dry lining (fixed by Mr Pn himself-see earlier) became unscrewed and caused major leak. Radiators proliferated and three had to be thrown away as superfluous, although PR said that we needed them. New utility window fixed in cloakroom, PR adjusting the cloakroom in it's entirety to fit wrong window. Finished specified dimensions of cloakroom ignored making chosen sanitary fitted useless. Room is now almost too small to use. Utility window, having been used elsewhere not fixed and window destined for cloakroom not suitable for aperture.PR I know all about Agas" attempted to light it with a blow lamp and melted wiring inside. Roof to bay window not done

I contacted Penhaligon's Renovations and a guy came out to look at the job I wanted doingHe told me he wanted the opinion of the roofer he uses and would get back to me. That was 5 weeks ago and I've heard nothing! If you didn't want the job you should have just said instead of wasting my time.

I contacted Ryan at Penhaligon's long before moving to Cornwall regarding some work on a ceiling. he responded with a reasonable quote for the work despite not having seen it. Good communication throughout. On moving in, he came and assessed the problem and suggested a better and cheaper solution. The work was booked to be done and Ryan attended initially with his plasterer to check it was understood what needed to be done . The work took 2 days with great results and professional throughout. More work has been booked through Penhaligon's . Would definitely recommend them

We employed Ryan and his team to renovate an old and tired bathroom. Penhaligon Renovations Ltd was the best quote of three companies and although the start date was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic Ryan kept us posted throughout and work commenced soon after lockdown finished. We are delighted with the finished result, high standard of work and pleasant and professional team. We are planning on using Penhaligon Renovations again in the future and highly recommend Ryan and his company to anyone requiring building work.Mr & Mrs CanonRedruth
