The Red Goat Climbing Wall

Great atmosphere and amazing staff! The climbing is fun with lots of levels to suit beginners, up to those who seem to scramble up a flat wall. The food is also really good with fresh pizza, coffee and pastries to suit all your cravings. Big shout out to Ellie for making a 10/10 coffee and making you feel welcome every time ☕

Visited for the first time today with my son.The staff were all super helpful and got us set up quickly.It had a friendly atmosphere and the walls were all set up really well.The cafe/bar was great and had lovely coffee. Although we didn’t have any pizzas they looked amazing and we’ll be back to give them a try.

Am amazing space for bouldering, with a great variety of problems to climb, some weights to train with and a great, welcoming atmosphere. Drinks and food too, with pizzas to die for.Update: the place has been extensively redone and offers even more climbing areas now, along with a superb cafe section at the front.

Only had drinks but freshly cooked pizza was available. The drink was a porter served well and very nice with a reasonable price (£5.50 pint) friendly staff, nice seating areas, music and a very chill atmosphere. We really needed a place like this around here ! Very nice

Very nice Cafe attached to popular climbing wall. Great coffee and tasty cakes. Didnt try Pizza as it was a bit early in day but I have heard they are very good. Only thing missing is WIFI, but mobile phone service was OK in cafe.l

My first experience climbing (with a more experienced friend) was super enjoyable.This is a tough challenge for my fitness level but don't be intimidated and give it a go.The gym is BUSY, but its not an intimidating environment, everyone was polite and waited their turn and had a chat amongst their groups.There is a cafe serving pizza which is all very well priced. Most expensive looked to be around £10. This can be accessed from the street if you want somewhere to go to eat.Could benefit from a changing room, unless there was one I wasn't aware of.

the staff are fantastic, the wall is always interesting and challenging (yet kind to my newcomer friends), the gym equipment is great to use, and the pizzas... my god. Ever since i ate here, i have compared every ~£10 pizza to Red Goats, and none compare. the best, the best, the best

The Red Goat Climbing Wall is a fantastic bouldering centre full of opportunity and fun! It has limited parking so may be best to park and walk up although outside of working hours there is opportunity to park outside the local businesses and the climbing gym is easily accessible from there, you can’t miss it. Upon arrival, we simply went into the gym and filled out a short electronic waiver. They could see that we were experienced climbers so it was so quick and easy to get climbing once we were asked a few simple safety questions. They supplied us with bouldering shoes in our sizes and there is chalk available if you don’t have your own. The bouldering gym itself was relatively busy, however there was a lot of space as it was HUGE. The training facilities were excellent; there were hang boards, campus boards, pull up bars and more! The grading system was nice as they took emphasis off V grades and instead used colours. We picked out boulders based on how fun they looked rather than difficulty level. Some of the climbs were almost impossible, but we managed to complete quite a lot in the end! The staff were super friendly and so were all the climbers in the gym. Definitely recommend for experienced climbers, but it’s perhaps not as enjoyable for younger children or beginners, due to the difficulty of the climbs. We paid just £10 each for the kids. There is a lovely pizza kitchen there with gorgeous decor and there was what looked like a family party when we went which had a lovely vibe. All in all a wonderful place and we wish we lived closer to enjoy it again!

Awesome place with friendly, helpful staff. Numerous ways to pay and with no tie ins! Nice cafe adjoined to climbing wall and also great for kids over 4 years. Definitely worth a visit.
