Helen is very friendly, very patient and very helpful. All the lessons are fun and enjoyable. She’s always prepared for every lesson and they all fell like you’ve learnt and are useful. I had zero mandarin before I started and I could still understand all of the lessons I’ve had since, clear and professional. Will recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor!

Helen helped me tremendously in studying for my GCSE. Without her I would not have been able to achieve a 7. The lessons are also incredibly well priced, given the duration and quality of them.

My eldest son has been taking mandarin lessons with Helen for the last few years. Initially these were for fun but have since inspired a trip to Shanghai with school and culminated in taking his GCSE papers this year. Helen has been a great teacher throughout. Helen, thank you for all your support over these last few years but especially in the last few months as he has prepared for his exams. I think this has been a great experience and opportunity for him and I'd highly recommend Helen's school.

I've just finished a short four week course with Helen whilst visiting the UK from Hong Kong. I've been learning Mandarin for a couple of years and she has been excellent at understanding my current level and forming lessons according to my needs, making sure the lessons were challenging enough but also varied. It's been great to be able to keep up my learning whilst in the UK and I hope to be able to study with her next summer when I am back again. Thank you Helen!

I really enjoy Helen’s Mandarin lessons and look forward to them every week! She’s an excellent and very engaging teacher. Lessons are held at Helen’s home-school, which is a great environment, and I always feel welcome. Helen uses a fairly holistic approach to teaching, encouraging us to understand the historical and cultural meaning behind Chinese characters and language, alongside learning conversational Mandarin, so that we’re not just speaking/reading Mandarin/pinyin by rote. I find the language fascinating and Helen to be an excellent tutor. She’s a native Chinese speaker, which is essential. Her lessons are also remarkably good value for their quality and duration :) Tom H （汤汤）
