Chatting Away - Speech and Language Therapy

Laura has a really lovely approach to engaging and working with children. She was working with my deaf 2yo daughter and always managed to keep the sessions relevant, lively and fun, while also being focused on the goals.Laura helped me to develop fun ways of interacting with my daughter, to encourage her understanding and later speech... She gave me confidence and motivation and it was a joy for both of us to work with her!

When we first met Laura she immediately put our slightly reluctant little boy at ease- she is so welcoming and engaging. Laura took a detailed history and worked through a thorough but well paced assessment supporting our little one through the process.When we started the therapy I was really surprised at how well Laura held our sons attention. I’d never seen him focus on and enjoy a learning process before. Laura skilfully tapped into his interests and personality; recognising that he loves dinosaurs, loud and silly noises and lots of praise.Laura provided lots of excellent support, guidance and resources so we could work with our son at home. She sent frequent progress emails and guidance for our sons nursery for them to follow to help him. Laura clearly genuinely wants to support children reach their full potential. Our son made so much progress with Laura’s help.Laura is so caring, warm and just lovely to be around. I enjoyed the sessions as much as my little one and given that we’re seasoned pros at health and development interventions it was such a refreshing and confidence building experience for us both.I shouldn’t forget to mention that Laura also formally assessed our six year old daughters expressive and receptive language ability and this was an equally positive and engaging experience. My daughter was just disappointed that she had passed with flying colours and didn’t need to go back to see Laura again!As I’m sure it goes without saying- we couldn’t recommend Laura more highly and think she’s absolutely ace :-)

Simply the best Speech & Language therapist!We worked with Laura for around 18 months. In this time our son went from struggling to be understood, to being an outgoing and confident young boy, meeting all of the expectations for his age.

Laura worked with my 5 year old son for 6months. School flagged up he had some speech delay and would benefit from some extra support. Laura was absolutely incredible with him. She is so patient and was able to engage well with him and keep his attention. Being a little 5 year old boy obviously he wanted to just play and Laura was able to adjust things so we did a lot of learn through and via play. His speech has come on a considerable amount to the point we have now finished with Laura. His confidence in school has grown and he is now able to communicate clearly and doesn’t get frustrated. I’m actually quite sad he doesn’t need the support anymore as we would really enjoy our sessions with Laura.

The service provided by Laura was exactly what my son needed to help him overcome his speech delay. She was amazing personable and professional. She worked really well to quickly identify the sounds he was struggling with and she developed fun games to help him practise those sounds. She was also flexible to be lead by us, for example when he had a line for assembly she make sure he could pronounce it really clearly and game him the confidence he needed to speak in-front of the whole school. Her communication with the school was beyond what I would have expected. The school where also learning speech theory tips from her.

Laura was amazing in helping our 4 year old son with his speech development. She is such a warm person that my very shy son felt very comfortable with her and his language improved so much after a session with her. Thank you Laura for everything you did for our son.

Laura is really kind and nurturing and my son was always really excited to arrive at her sessions. She was calm and supportive and has really helped with his communication and development. She was also really proactive in liaising with nursery and providing extra resources we could implement at home.

We have been seeing Laura for almost a year now for our 4 year old daughter. She has formed such a lovely relationship with our very shy little girl, and we look forward to her sessions every week. Laura has been a wonderful support to us not only during sessions, but also in giving practical advice making applications for Local Authority speech therapy. She has gone above and beyond trying to liaise with our daughter's school so we can get the support she needs in place and so that staff have all the tools and knowledge available to them to best help her in school. We feel very lucky to have found Laura, our daughter is improving and progressing all the time under her care, and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend her!

Laura has been amazing and formed a fantastic professional bond with our son. Laura brought creative new games and activities to the sessions which were engaging and kept the sessions fun. The progress our son has made has been great and will help him greatly when he starts school. We can not thank her enough and highly recommend her.
