Dr McCann Is a fantastic Dr, I’ve only had dealings with him and a lady dr as I’m new to the surgeryMy son had a persistent cough/cold for 4 weeks before I took him in, (I don’t like to take valuable appointments unless needed) receptionist gave him A diagnosis over the phone that 4 weeks isn’t long for a child to have a cough. But she would get me an appointment, got told off lady dr he would be fine with calpol and kept hydrated, another 4 weeks no sign of it moving saw her again to the same, calpol and hydration. Another 2 weeks and he was still suffering and now was stoping breathing in his sleep so was getting worried, saw Dr McCann this time and guess what he prescribed antibiotics that cleared up 10 weeks of suffering of my little boy in 5 days.Thank you for that I will certainly ask to see him first and foremost where possible.I also contacted the surgery 2 days ago as I suffer from asthma when I get a cold/flu for example which I have at the moment, and requested a prescription for an inhalerReceptionist told me I wouldn’t need an inhaler as I shouldn’t be getting asthma issues with a coldGuess what saw Dr McCann and I got prescribed an inhaler and steroids.Absolutely 5 stars for Dr McCannBut I never realized Drs receptionists had now had full medical training and are able to diagnose you better than said Dr so one star took off for the know it all receptionists

Very difficult to get decent treatment from this surgery, always chasing up blood tests and further treatment of their results. Receptionists seem very abrupt at times.Update - went to have my back looked at for suspected sciatica said they’d send me some exercises to help, clicked the link and it directs me to case studies about sciatica no actual exercises on the entire websiteFurther update - I have been prescribed Montelukast for a skin condition which upon my further research can commonly cause depression, sleep issues and suicidal thoughts. I don’t think they checked my medical record before prescribing this as I am currently suffering with depression and sleep paralysis. Maybe this should be made aware to me. I am definitely changing practice, I’m always fobbed off when I go here. I went a few years ago for feeling down and the same GP made me feel stupid and to call talking therapies myself and that I could find them on Google. I didn’t attend again for a while after that embarrassment. The next time I went I had been suffering with dry itchy ears that had discharge and the same doctor again told me to just rub coconut oil in my ears. I went the same day to the pharmacist and she gave me an ear spray for infections which cured it in less than a week. Very neglectful healthcare here, however I will say the lovely lady that did my first smear test was the best lady in the entire surgery and made me very comfortable. If only her colleagues were as professional.Update: 6 months after leaving this surgery, my new doctor told me I was deficient in vitamin D which I never found out off the blood tests I was waiting for, instead for some reason they prescribed me medication for B12 at the time, which my new GP said the levels are fine from those tests so not sure why they recommended that. Also they have not even done any intolerance tests which I have been suffering a skin condition for 5 years and unknown cause. New GP was very surprised they didn’t check this yet since my skin rashes are body spread and causing me fevers. Just the worst GP and I’m still suffering for them being lazy and negligent!!

Lovely friendly staff. I have recently moved to this surgery and I am so impressed with the high level of customer service. I have been made very welcome and the staff on reception are so helpful. The nurses are amazing and are really supportive and caring. To date thankfully I have not needed to see a Doctor but I imagine their level of care and concern will equal that of the reception staff and the nursing staff.

I have always managed to get an appointment when I have called in the morning of.Janine the receptionist is a credit to this place and I am always pleased when she is dealing with my enquiry as it gets quickly sorted and it doesn't seem like it's a bother to her.On the other hand there is a receptionist who I just cannot deal with. Her attitude is disgusting. Everything is a problem for her. I have actually hung up multiple times when I hear her voice as it's not worth the struggle of dealing with her.Doctors are good. I especially like Dr Howe, Dr Rajan, Dr McQueen and Dr McCann.Nurses are also all lovely and friendly. The only reason this is 4* and not 5* is because of the receptionist who is in the wrong job!

Called to book appointment for son, informing them he was with me and not his mother (divorced), so they'd need to contact me with appointment details. They duly ignored this and sent a text to his mam, meaning we only found out about the appointment 10 minutes before and had to rush down to the surgery. No apologies from reception, just blamed on someone else. Then had to sit and wait for over 45 minutes after appointment time, without reception speaking to us to explain or oppologise for the sever delay.

I'm so pleased I registered with this practice. The receptionists are lovely , and , despite their intense workload, they always take time. The practice nurses are FAB . So understanding and compassionate. I've only needed to see a GP once and she was lovely. No rushing, no assumption, she listened and talked to me. I can't rate them highly enough

I’m going to change surgeries. Been with this surgery a couple of months. Reception staff are rude, tutting and sighing if you request an appointment, even though that’s the whole idea of a doctors surgery. Ordered a prescription, they confirmed it would be there in the afternoon, attempted to collect it the following day, to give time and it still hadn’t arrived, in fact it was never ordered! The pharmacist had to give an emergency prescription.

Has been ok until recently. Drs are great, administration people seem friendly but the admin processes are terrible and only getting worse. For example for the last two days I'm unable to book an appointment, and I don't mean for immediate purposes, I'm actually suggesting 3 weeks in advance etc. I've been told a Dr will call me back, and I've stated it has to be after a certain time. Work commitments mean no access to phone, so obviously calls come through before that time which wastes everyone's time.Really not sure what to do here, might be time to start changing GP. I can't work with we'll call you back at an unknown time, when I have to work full time. The only people this benefits are those who don't work (unemployed, retired etc) and those who need to see a Dr immediately (and I'd question if that's the correct approach).
