The restaurant was cold. Two of us ordered the Christmas meal with Turkey.. We were told there was no turkey left so we ordered the chicken instead. We were then told there was some turkey left so we went for that.We waited over an hour for the meals to come and when they did they were not very warm. I asked for the profiterolesbut they didn't have any left. I then asked for the apple pie and there was none of that left either.My nephew ordered from the usual menu and his was fine.When the bill came it was wrong and the waitress had to change it.Usually the food is excellent and so is the service but not today.

Great food albeit a little overpriced. No waiting, straight in. Greeted by a mute apparently as he just grunted and made us follow him. But the rest of the girls serving are great and I'd recommend visiting.

We couldn't of wish for a better breakfast. The waitress (Monica ) was very good , very helpful. The break was cooked just right. We had poached eggs and they wasn't any water on the plate at all. Thank you . We'll be back.

First time visiting a harvester and it was brilliant! Unbelievable value for money especially the 2/3 course Mid week set menu deals! Also very good having the unlimited salad bar so you can choose what to accompany your meal with! Very Friendly staff and we will be visiting again when we are working nearby!

Well it was a Sunday evening and not very busy, so the atmosphere was really what we as a family made it - it was lovely!As for the service and food, I think we were all pleasantly surprised, it must be over 20 years since my husband and I were last in a Harvester that we could give 4 stars to. We have been going to Harvesters more frequently in the last few years as they are a favourite of our wonderful Granddaughter - she loves the salads and being able to go and help herself.In previous Harvesters - dating back to the early 2000's - maybe even as far back as the early 1990's, I would have only scored them between 2.5 and 3 for the standard of the food, so last night's meals really were a nice surprise. I hope that this Harvester can keep up the good work, as it would be lovely to have a reliably good Harvester this close to our home at last. That the staff were friendly too was of course also part of the pleasant experience

Very disappointed. We went for our Xmas dinner as a group as we have done year on year. There were no Xmas crackers on table. We asked and they found 2 between 12 of us. They said they only provided crackers for Xmas meals!! We were having our Xmas meals. They also said there was no vegetarian gravy as they didn't provide it!! Two of us were vegetarian.

A busy Saturday in the summer holidays could easily see standards slide but the very opposite appears to be the case at Colton Mill.We'd booked a table about an hour before so there was no wait. Drinks arrived really quickly and no sooner than we'd finished our excellent salad bar bowls our main arrived.The ultimate mixed grill (shared between two) was exquisite, probably the best Mixed Grill I've eaten since my wife and I celebrated our engagement in 1995!There wasn't anything on the plate that wasn't really special, sauces were fabulous, beef dripping gravy to die for, and fabulous allergen information for gluten free too.Harvester should be very proud of Colton Mill. Well managed, excellent kitchen thanks to Boris, stunning service from Esme.A1+*Nb photo of steak and rib combo part eaten!

Not been in here for a number of years and could not remember what it was like. Three in party ordered two steaks and one chicken skewer all food was cooked to perfection and we could not have been better looked after by the staff. Will definitely be back again if only to make sure it is always this good. Would also have recommended the steaks but couldn’t find them listed
