Very highly recommended. David goes into great detail about what he's going to do with the guitar and what to expect. He also explains how to care for your guitar so you can enjoy playing it for a long as possible before needing another set up. I got a pick up installed, fret dressing and a bespoke set up. Once completed, I could tell as soon as started playing that it was perfect for me. He based the set up on how I play and he got it spot on first time, even adjusted the pick up height and pole pieces to exactly what I was looking for. Frets are now immaculate too, neck relief corrected.....everything spot on. If you need any love and attention for your electric or acoustic guitar, please, do yourself a favour and take it to David, you won't regret it. You will not get this level of service from a big chain guitar shop.

I visited David about 3yrs ago,with a nice but old and cheap guitar tanglewood sw1000 basically a D28 copy,..David had a very studious look over the guitar and explained in detail his professional opinion and adjustments repairs that may need looking at,this guy was really professional curteous and blew me away with his knowledge,a True Luthier indeed,he worked his magic on the guitar and it played like a dream, silky smooth fretboard adjusted nut and saddle the set up was superb,never fatigued playing guitar after that,I plan to visit David very soon as Ive acquired a new addition that needs the 'magic touch!.11 out of 10

Very professional, looked at a guitar I’d just received with buzzing that I thought might be the result of some slightly uneven frets. He confirmed this but also set it up in such a way that the buzz almost completely disappeared to give me time to play and enjoy the guitar and decide whether I want to keep it and have the frets sorted or return it since it is brand new. He even found, something I hadn’t noticed, there no springs or similar under the neck pick up which means it’s height cannot currently be adjusted, although this isn’t too hard to remedy it’s good to be aware when making a decision on whether to keep or return an instrument. Very happy with the service.

David is extremely skilled and knowledgeable luthier who has transformed my telecaster thinline-type guitar with a neck reset, fret dressing and trem bar installation. Although he works on very valuable guitars I’d say it is still worth taking even an entry level/basic one as this sort of set up and inspection could make a huge difference to an aspiring guitarist’s ability to make progress. He is not cheap but it’s worth every penny.

David breathed some life into my wee classical guitar. Looking at the frets before and after they were dressed was surprising. I don't think I've seen the frets on any guitar look so clean and level. All the fret buzz vanished and it's never been easier to play.I learned quite a lot from my time in David's workshop. You'll get some good chats as well and a cup of tea.Top guy. Cheers for the time.

I took my beloved Martin D28 to David for a set up. The action was very high and had been since new (pretty standard for all Martin guitars)David was excellent not only setting up the guitar based on my playing style but really taking the time to show me all adjustments and explaining the whole process while continuing to check that this was working for me. David really is an expert in his field and for any guitar needing some work it would be well worth a trip to Perth for any guitarist to visit him.Thanks David I really have fallen in love with this guitar again and just can’t put it down.

Highly skilled and knowledgeable, I am delighted to recommend David, who took my grandfathers guitar and restored it, despite all the difficult challenges it threw up, I fear in lesser hands it would have ended up on the scrap heap. Thank you so much for enabling that sweet sound to be appreciated through the generations. I just need to up my game now and practice a bit more! :-)
