Beautiful walk along the aqueduct, to the last pub in England. Recommend the walk through the tunnel, before the bridge, but take a torch!

A 70 foot high navigable Aqueduct that runs next to the railway viaduct a crosses the England and Wales border. Quieter than the neighbouring Pontcysyllte and good fun to walk across it and then through the canal tunnel. Car parking and cafe close by.

Crossed the aqueduct on a canal boat holiday. Stunning views and a feast for the eyes. Lovely canal path to walk along and plenty of places to take some stunning pictures.

Beautiful views when travelling over the aqueduct on the narrowboat and impressive to see the viaduct above. No waiting the morning we went to cross but enough room for several boats to pull in and wait if needed.Lovely smooth paths for walkers and cyclists over the aqueduct and easy to walk up onto the bridge into the tunnel for fantastic photos of the boats coming along and waiting to enter the tunnel.

We came here in the evening when the sun was going down and there was hardly anyone else around. It was so beautiful. There's a small car park at the police station about five minutes walk away which is free.

Travel between England and Wales with style, canal was finished in 1801, railway a few decades later. A great achievement for people with no power apart from horses and each other.

Engineering on a phenomenal scale, especially when you take into account the technology available at that time.

Amazing engineering of a beautiful aquaduct. The tunnel between England and Wales took me out of my comfort zone. Dark, damp and narrow but so pleased I did it.
