Food is strictly okay. Staff is friendly. We had quite a variety of dishes here and weren't particularly delighted with the flavours. That said, we did enjoy the Indian filter coffee and would recommend that if you're a coffee lover.

The name says Taste of Chennai but even the North Indian food was exceptional… they have great variety and everything we ordered was soooo tasty especially the chicken drumsticks..the owner Siva was very humble and was fully involved in the customer service. Never expected to have such a good authentic dosa in Glasgow.

I had a delightful dining experience today. The Malabari parotta was incredibly satisfying; we even ordered two more for takeaway. The curries were good, and the surprise hit was the delicious paneer fried rice.Despite a small mix-up with my order, the waitress was quick to apologize and replaced the dish. Moreover, there was a surprise when the staff forgot to charge us for the extra parottas, but they promptly corrected it when we informed them. Overall, the combination of good food and customer service makes this restaurant a positive choice.

This is my first time giving a 5 star review after a long time. This place is like a hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing. Better than Dishoom and Ivy Asia. If you like Desi food, then this place is a must.

After hearing a lot of good things about the place, this was my first visit to Taste of Chennai for family lunch. The service was good, starters came early and main course understandably took a little bit.Ambiance was good and for someone hailing from Chennai I kinda felt like at home with the Tamil film songs playing in the background.FOOD: (We were hungry so didn't have the patience to click pics of each dish)Dragon Chicken - Typical Indo-chinese style dish, it was tangy and flavourful.Fish Sukka - Was very good, fried fish added to chukka masala. Felt more like a Tawa version of Fish Polichadhu.Prawn Pepper Fry - This one wasn't there in their menu, I requested if they can make a Prawn version of their Chicken Pepper Fry and they obliged. It was very good, just lacked a little salt.Chicken Dum Biryani - Disappointed. I asked the waitress if the Biryani is of the Chennai style biryani and she said it is Chennai style indeed. But this isn't Chennai biryani at all and I'm sure their Chef would agree with me.Parotta & Chicken Pepper Curry - The ultimate dish we had on our table. It was so epic, I loved every bite of it. Felt like having Parotta and curry in a good Kerala restaurant in India.Chicken Chilli Parrotta - Again a typical Indo-chinese dish, taste was on point just felt the oil was a bit too much.Kids Dosa - The classic Plain Dosa with Sambar and Coconut Chutney, it was very good.We also had Mango Lassi and Rose Milk, the former was too good while the latter was passable.Overall, we definitely enjoyed our experience in Taste of Chennai, will be back soon to try other items on their menu.

Hi, we been to this restaurant from Aberdeen already 2 times and was amazing staff, food and atmosphere. We ordered several dishes and all dishes taste was amazing and perfect and it was really our cultural food and taste . We would like to eat everyday there if they would have branck in Aberdeen. The manager/ honour was very gentle and kind person. I will suggest him to open one branch in Aberdeen as well , in Aberdeen there’s no any 100% Indian cultural restaurant.

Had an opportunity to visit this place yesterday. I'm glad to see the owner Shiva has taken this place just 2 months before. On this note, this place was fairly busy being Tuesday. The food is fairly priced and extensive menu, as name in itself The Chennai, you can expect to have plenty of South Indian dishes, indeed it ticks the box. Good food, good people. Location is good for people who are coming to the town. What I liked the most is their Masala Tea. Guys support them, it's new business and needs nurturing. Best of luck The Chennai Team.
