Shaun and his team recently completed a kitchen renovation for us. It isn't a huge room but Shaun came up with amazing design ideas that we wouldn't have thought of, including opening up a doorway which has given so much light and the illusion of space. It has totally transformed how we use the kitchen and is now a great family and social space. Looking forward to planning our next project with SGCS soon!

Shaun and the team came highly recommended. They certainly have lived up to that billing. SGCS started our extension in January as planned and as we are close to finishing off I thought it would be a good time offer a review of their work.For the first 2 months things progressed brilliantly. We probably did not make things easy for Shaun by deciding to live in during the build, but this was no problem. In fact, nothing was a problem. Week by week the guys moved things to a new part of the house, always maintaining the basics....heat, water, electricity and most importantly TV and Wifi for the kids.What could possibly go wrong? Firstly we found some asbestos, but Shaun still managed to maintain work in other parts of the house whilst the removal was arrange. Then Covid hit. This was when they really demonstrated why they are so highly rated. Those things that could be done continued, but inevitably things came to a halt as materials became difficult to get.The guys never arrived late, in fact they were often on site at 7.30am getting ready to start at 8am. They did their upmost to tidy at the end of the day and battle to keep dust levels to the lowest level was really appreciated. The work ethic was brilliant. You hear horror stories about builders, but SGCS were a credit to Shaun and themselves at all times.We have 2 young children and there was never a concern regarding leaving anything dangerous that they could injure themselves on. We would welcome any of the team back in to our house in the future. They tolerated us being there more that we anticipated as we worked form home during the lockdown and after.Shaun seemed to have an uncanny way of knowing what we wanted and advised on the best way to achieve this. He also managed to save money on some of things that we did not really need, or could do for a better price. Ceiling were raised to make room bigger on his recommendation, hallway widened and living room arch reduced to enlarge room all on Shaun's advice.Shaun has someone for every job. Tiling, window shutters, flooring, etc. It was so nice to see them enjoying their work every day.I think the biggest compliment we can give is that, other than covid, we would not have changed anything.We have got an unbelievable house at the end of it. If there is anything that needs doing to it in future Shaun will be the first person we contact.The most important lesson I have learnt over the last 7 months is not to do a large house extension during a global pandemic......but if you really have to make sure Shaun and the SGCS team are the ones that do it for you!!!

Shaun and his incredibly dedicated team were such an absolute pleasure to work with. They are timely, efficient, polite, considerate, hardworking, kind and friendly, always going the extra mile, and nothing was ever a problem - only solutions. We are so happy that we chose SGCS to transform our Victorian home. Shaun's partners and recommended suppliers are also brilliant (SG Electricals, Carlie for the kitchen painting, roofers, tilers). I’m not sure what to say.. Shaun and the SGCS team renovated our house and made it our dream home! And they somehow made it an enjoyable experience! From our initial meetings to the snagging at the end, nothing was too much effort.The project involved underpinning, a loft conversion, new roof, ground floor kitchen extension and reconfiguring most of the original internal walls. Overall the project ran extremely smoothly and stayed on budget with Shaun overseeing everything, anticipating issues early and overcoming them promptly.From the start of the project through to the end, Shaun was always available to us to answer any questions or worries that we had. We met regularly on site and he gave us frequent updates. All of which was very reassuring.Shaun’s team are also fantastic. They worked tirelessly throughout, regardless of the weather conditions and without complaint (even when I came up with one of my eccentric ideas or changed my mind about something at the last minute!). We were so impressed with the quality of workmanship in all aspects of the build. Shaun has a great relationship with both his plumber and electrician and he has a wealth of contacts for whatever you need. All of which added to our experience.Overall I can not fault Shaun and the SGCS team and would recommend them in a heartbeat. They made what could have been an extremely stressful experience into a project that was a lot of fun. It gave us something to look forward to in the midst of the pandemic and it has inspired my 6 year-old son to become a builder! Thank you Shaun and all those on your team.

Shaun carried out a side return extension and some fairly extensive refurbishment to the rest of the ground floor of our house. The whole SGCS team worked extremely hard (often at weekends and in evenings to make sure that they kept to schedule) and the work was all carried out to a very high standard. Shaun is an excellent project manager - calm, professional and communicative, and you can be sure that any trades he brings in to his jobs are equally committed to the same high standards of work as he is. We were blown away by how quickly the team worked, and also by the standard of the end product. We would not hesitate to recommend SGCS if you are looking for a great builder.

We were recommended to Shaun because of his good reputation and have not been disappointed. He has a great well organised team that produces high quality work. Nothing is too much trouble.. He has identified and shared our aspirations and has made them happen. We look forward to working with him on our second phase of construction.

Shaun and his team recently laid a concrete base at my home in readiness for a new garden outbuilding. From the outset Shaun was friendly, knowledgeable and his quote was reasonable. The team arrived when they said they would and had the job completed well within the given time expectation. They left the site clean and tidy. I have, and will continue to recommend Shaun to anyone looking for any kind of building work to their home.

I’m not one for reviews but they the way Shaun Gilbert and his team looked after us was outstanding,We had a large extension built during these strange times and the team couldn’t have accommodated us better. Me and wife and the kids holed up upstairs.The quality of the work and the tradesmen that SGCS have access to is superb, great project management, we also had lots of extras done on the way and those costs and the original estimate were very competitive.Basically do not shop around you will not get better service as far as we’re concernedThank you again to Shaun and his team.Bourneside Road...

I cannot recommend more highly the work of Shaun and the SGCS Surrey team. We undertook a major renovation last year to our house in Weybridge.Shaun and the team were the most professional, not only finishing the work according to plan but able to manage our budget and expectations. This is in spite of the rising costs of materials. He was able to suggest practical cost saving measures as well as work with us to bring our plans to life.We're so pleased with the finish of the reno and it's transformed how we live. We've subsequently had Shaun help us with further work to our back garden and will seek him out for any construction we do in the future.

Shaun and his team did a kitchen extension and refit for us earlier this year and we are very happy with the job. Shaun was very professional and straightforward throughout, from the scoping and quote, through the build, to snagging etc at the end. I would be happy to recommend him.The job was project managed very smoothly, Shaun has a great team, including roofers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, joiners, etc. All of the workmen were helpful, polite, clean, and most importantly excellent at their jobs. Our new kitchen looks fantastic, and is much admired.Shaun’s suppliers (sliding glass doors, worktops, etc.) were all very good.We have more plans for building works and will be working with Shaun again
