100% one of the best nights sleeps I've had while working away on business. Top quality food and service. Would definitely recommend.

Pub meal for 4Sunday set menu £26 for 2 courses or £32 for 3 courses - BEWARE the normal menu is not available. Why did we book here? The pub menu had been recommended by friends who go there regularly mid-week.4 people for a special birthday celebration - 2 had travelled a long way from Harrogate and West Yorkshire. We had reviewed their website + menu before booking and all knew there was something on the menu to order. We were very disappointed on arrival to learn the normal menu was not available on Sunday. We has to choose from a set menu.SUGGESTION - please communicate this better to manage customer expectations. If we had know in advance we would have booked another day as your Sunday menu was not as appealing to us.GOOD - lovely decor and atmosphere, warm log burner and quality food. It was busy.WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER - portions were very small, especially the starters. In-attentive staff + it was hard to get anyones attention. No one asked how the food was. Cold roast potatoes. Very small veg dish for 4 people. Tables of 2 received the same size veg portion. Provided a small cup of extra cauli on request. Outside toilet for men in the snow. When a lady was clearing the plates she asked if we'd all enjoyed the meals. We advised the leg of lamb had been tough. She said no one else had complained and she'd advise the chef. Really? Why ask?4 x 2 courses1 small dish mixed veg1 small dish roast potatoes4 drinks= £117 + £4 tipWe were disappointed. Shame as we had expected much better.

This review is very fair, and I hope it does not put people off visiting the 3 Millstones, but as one who has worked in the hospitality industry, there are some points to address. We were welcomed, 3 generations of the same family aged 22, 60 and 93 in a very good way. However, the menu presented to us was a set menu of 2 (£24) or 3 (£32) courses when I was expecting a more extensive bar menu that I could choose from. I then found out that this is not available on Sundays, it would have been nice to know this up front as we were only intending to order a single course. We were told that they would deduct the price of the second course, so I expected £8. It was actually nearer £4. Of the few choices, we decided on the Sunday lunch, however we were not asked how we liked our beef. Consequently, my father found it rather tough and when asked was everything alright for you?"

We just had a one night stay here and absolutely loved it. We had a booking in April but unfortunately had to reschedule, the staff were very kind and let us move to a date of our choice.Such a beautiful cosy room, with everything you could need. Best night sleep I’ve had in ages in the comfiest bed, plus an excellent and large shower. Little touches like having an adjustable vanity mirror on the dresser and a little chocolate each with a fresh bottle of water waiting for us were much appreciated! We didn’t stay for breakfast as had plans but it was included in the price which we thought was very affordable given what a perfect room we had. We have recommended to our friends who we were visiting for them to suggest to any future visitors!

This is a very honest opinion of our stay at this establishment, we arrived had a drink in the garden then realised quickly the wasps are a nuisance due to the plumb trees. we collected our keys headed to our room and the stench of sewage or an unflushed toilet hit us right away. we asked for air freshener and was given some lovely spray we sprayed the room and left it for a few hours and took a drink to the upstairs patio this was better than the other area no wasps but the builders noise and there silly shouts meant we had to take our drinks inside. later we had a meal which was lovely the only problem was the portion sizes after £60 in food we left hungry and looking for a takeaway. the breakfast however was of a nice size and enough. All in all a nice place but don't think we would return due to the meal sizes and the room stench as regards the building work we may have just visited on a bad day but the builders do need to be a little more understanding there are still punters about an keep there nonsense to there self

Stayed here overnight as we'd been attending a wedding at nearby Eaves Hall. The breakfast next morning was good and plentiful.

Lovely rooms although ours was too hot and sash window was wedged slightly open and couldn't be opened any further. Breakfast was great and the staff were really nice. Great location and would return to this pub.
