Experience Portree - Walking Tours

This was an absolutely fabulous experience! Highly recommend this tour with David. Lively entertaining and enlightening with lots of interesting information along with great tips!

We absolutely loved our time on Skye and this tour of Portree was the highlight of our trip! David was a charming and funny guide who knows his stuff and really looked after us. We stopped off at some beautiful spots and learned loads of stuff that you don’t see in the guide books! Thank you!

I learned about David and Portree Walking Tours through a YouTube video. My wife and I planned a 3 day trip to the island at the end of January. Unfortunately there are no tours available during this period however after contacting David he sent us an email with lots of helpful information on suitable Winter walks and good restaurants to visit. L’escursione con David era grandiosa. All’inizio temevo che David avrebbe disdetto il giro, visto che ero solo e gli ho mandato la richiesta piuttosto tardi. Per David peró non era c’era nessun problema e mi organizzó un giro privato attraverso il centro e le attrazioni di Portree. Visto che David fa parte di una delle famiglie piú vecchie di tutta l’isola, conosce storie, annedoti e leggende del posto e dei suoi abitanti in abbondanza. Inoltre, essendo del luogo, conosceva parecchi posti non conosciuti dai turisti che meritano una visita. Apparte le informazioni interessantissime e utili, il suo modo simpatico e competente di raccontare storie resero questa escursione storica di Portree una delle migliori che ho mai fatto. Assolutamente da raccomandare!

Die Tour mit David war grandios. Ich hatte zuerst die Befürchtung, sie würde nicht zustande kommen, weil ich nur alleine war und relativ spät angefragt hatte. Für David war das aber absolut kein Problem, er hat für mich eine private Rundtour durch die Kultur und Geschichte Portrees organisiert. Da er selbst Teil einer alteingesessenen Familie ist, weiß er unglaublich viel über Land und Leute und kennt zahlreiche Anekdoten aus der Geschichte des Ortes. Er hat eine sehr lebendige Art zu erzählen und präsentiert einen gelungenen Mix aus historischen Fakten und persönlichen Geschichten. Da er seine Heimatstadt und die Insel so gut kennt, hat er außerdem gute Tipps, wo man als Tourist noch hinfahren sollte und wo es sich gut essen lässt. Als wir am Tag darauf Probleme mit unserem Mietwagen hatten, hat er uns auch da noch weitergeholfen, obwohl das absolut nicht sein Problem gewesen wäre. Also sicherlich eine der besten Walking Tours, dich ich bisher mitgemacht habe und super freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Tourguide.
