I'm a regular at the Kettle. Love going there. Great venue, lots of open mic nights to give the locals a chance to show off their skills. Great bar staff. However. Once in a while you do get the odd bellend holiday maker in for a drink, like a lady who spilt her drink, as seen in the review below this one.This is what actually happened.She came in, ordered a drink and sat down. The table was wobbly and consequently the drink had spilt. She told the lovely lady behind the bar what had happened and she was kind enough to replace her drink, free of charge!The customer took her drink and put it back on said wobbly table. And guess what.. the drink spilt.. funny that. Only this time it went on her hideous dress. She came back to the bar shouting at the bar lady demanding another free drink. The barlady refused to give another free drink and the customer became more irate. YOU SAID IT WAS MY FAULT I SPILT IT" She shouted.It was actually me that said to the irate lady

I would give 0 reviews if I could because of the lady behind the bar. We had a dodgy table that kept falling and spilt my drink twice without none of the customers around us’ fault. Begrudgingly, although not our fault, they offered a free drink. But the second time the table fell, I went up and showed my soaking brand new dress and the bar lady wouldnt be flexible although knowing it was a dogy table. She quoted ‘you spilt the drink and we’ve already given a free drink’ upon reply ‘but I didnt spill it, it fell and you’re accusing me of tipping the drink’ she said ‘no I’m not accusing you, I’m suggesting’ which is the same to me!First night in Cornwall, to have this experience is very disappointing!!!Awful bar lady, attitude and the only way she could justify it was by saying it was her birthday. It’s actually my birthday too and the lady spoilt it. The man behind the bar knew the table was dodgy and even went to change it, but the lady failed to admin fault and failed to show a bit of respect! Absolutely awful experience, not by the pub, but by that parti us lady!! Unfortunately its those types of service that gives the whole pub a bad name!

Ok. If you don't mind paying more as a tourist.First pint of Tribute was charged £4.55 for a cloudy pint from bottom of barrell which was changed pleasantly.Subsequently charged £4.80 for further 2 pints and £8.10 for a large Jameson. Be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen if a tourist by an unfriendly host.
