Yarmouth Castle
It's quirky and interesting.Nothing like you expect a castle to be as its too small, and hidden down an alley. There isn't much to see in the building or exhibits but it was a pleasant half hour walking around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's the usual English Heritage prices which seem higher than they should be.

Yarmouth Castle
A small but historically interesting coastal defence structure with a pleasant gun platform upon which you can picnic and from which you can view the harbour and the transit of the car and passenger ferries.

Lovely little castle to visit. We tied it in with a walk around Yarmouth River to spend the day. Has a beautiful sea view up on the roof, lovely spot for a picnic lunch. Games room is a great touch for the kids, jenga, toss the hoop, dress up and connect 4. Small shop on entry, no toilets and parking is a short walk away.

The castle has an interesting history and is worth a visit if your interested in medieval fortifications. Being an English heritage site you can visit with membership, which is probably the best value to way to do it (not sure if the regular fee is worth it).The main downside is this place is rather small, you could easily see everything there within an hour, with time to spare to watch the ferry. From what we could tell, it also lacks toilets.

Yarmouth castle itself is a strange sort of building tucked away down an alley, it's definitely worth a visit as it has an interesting story, half an hour should be enough, some lovely sea views, although it's next to the ferry terminal. Most of the castle has literally been back filled in. The old centre of Yarmouth is small and quaint, and the surrounding area is dedicated to all things relating to water activities. Take a stroll down the pier, all in all a lovely place for a trip out

Nice little castle right in the middle of Yarmouth. Interesting to look at if you are in Yarmouth. No loos or refreshments, but great outdoor picnic area overlooking the sea and welcome to bring your own refreshments. Loos just down the road.

Fantastic views from the sea across the solent and surrounding straight of water. Also a close up view of the ferry coming and going from the island. Ideal location for a picnic. Informative board relating to the development of the castle throughout the ages.
