Steven and Murray took great care when delivering our new recliner chairs and sofa. Came within the time frame and were exceptionally polite and courteous. Two very sincere young men and it was a pleasure to meet them both - your company should be so proud of your workforce - lovely lads ***** service from a fantastic company.

Fantastic experience with Holly as our salesperson today. Buying for our 95 year old mother who was with us. Nothing was a problem and Holly made it a very fun and rewarding visit. Mum is delighted with her order and all of us delighted with Holly’s very attentive service. Well done!!

From the moment we walked into the showroom to delivery, this has been an excellent experience. Ioana was very helpful and happy to answer all queries during our showroom visit. The sofa and chair arrived 5 weeks early. Arrived on the agreed date and within the timeslot given. Our delivery men Bobby and Steve were great, they were very respectful of our home and cheerful throughout the delivery. It was a very good experience and we cannot recommend Richard F Mackay enough.

I have been looking for a set of 4 dining chairs for a few years now and I just found the perfect set in Richard F Mackay. However, I was not allowed to buy them. I am absolutely gutted, but more than that I am amazed! The reason I was given is that the Manager “already has two dining tables without chairs, so has paired these chairs with this table and will not sell them separately”. These chairs do not go well with the table they have been paired with. They would go perfectly with the table I have at home and with the colour of my other dining furniture and the walls. But I can’t have them, because the Manager doesn’t want to sell them without a table they don’t actually look good with!!! You are a furniture shop! If you have tables without suitable chairs, then order some suitable chairs! If you have a customer who wants to buy your chairs and you are in the business of selling furniture, sell the chairs! Unbelievable. And I am so so so disappointed. And very cross.

We found everyone very helpful, especially Hollie, who was very attentive to our needs with purchasing our sofa’s. Scott was also very helpful with his advice on carpets. Extremely pleased with service and would recommend visiting to anyone looking for quality items and good friendly and helpful service.

Hollie Ure was amazing totally understood our complicated needs for our new Cala home. What a knowledge she has on their products. Managed to cater for all our furniture needs in the style, colour and most importantly the price. She went over and above to make sure we got what suited our needs without blowing our budget. Excellent service Hollie didn’t think we would have bought anything today instead we have fitted out both rooms and kitchen bar stools. Can’t recommend Richard F MacKay enough

I had a 2 piece sofa delivered to the house recently and the service provided during the delivery process was exceptional. The sofa arrived within the time window provided and the two men delivering the furniture were very helpful and friendly. They cleaned up any mess and were very helpful in choosing ideal placement of the couches, would definitely use this service again.

Ordered 2 x 2 seater leather settees which arrived as expected just before Christmas 2021. Unfortunately, the supplier had shipped 2x3 seater settees which were just too big for our living room. Jason took immediate action to send 2 alternative 2 seater settees from warehouse stock to ensure that we had seating for Christmas. This is the big difference when dealing with a long established family firm like Richard F MacKay. The delivery team team took impeccable care when carrying in and setting up our new settees and placed them exactly where required. We very much appreciate all that Jason and Richard F MacKay did to ensure that we are happy customers. Top marks, and thanks!

I ordered a new dining table and chairs from Richard F Mackay, and I also bought a new sofa at the same time; because I couldn't decide which items I wanted to purchase, I made several trips to the store. I dealt with Jason, who was very patient and incredibly helpful during my visits, answering my countless questions as I asked them. Shortly before delivery, it came to light that there was a small problem with my order, but Jason immediately took ownership of this, and he rectified the issue within a few days (these things happen, but Jason was on the ball with resolving the issue, and I'm delighted at his proactive handling of it). My dining table and chairs arrived first, and my sofa arrived just a few days later. The delivery team (Mark and Emil) were wonderful, and it was lovely to have the same delivery team for both items. Mark and Emil were quick, efficient, friendly, helpful, and took great care when manoeuvring items through my hallway so as not to cause marks to the floors and walls. I'm absolutely delighted with my new furniture, and I'll certainly buy from Richard F Mackay again.

Earlier this year my wife and I decided to investigate the purchase of a replacement 3:2:1 suite for our house. The suite we had was an expensive make but had not worn well. We spoke to a firm who had tried to repair our suite and they recommended we consider Stressless. The next few months were spent thoroughly investigating various makes but in the end we did decide upon Stressless and in particular High Back Wave (3:2:1) in black. The next stage was to visit various retailers and in the end we opted for Richard F Mackay in Edinburgh. Our search was extensive and we opted for this firm, although not local, due to the overall shopping experience. This was during the pandemic and we found the health and safety aspects at Richard F Mackay to be thorough and reassuring. The sales representative was Hollie Ure and without doubt she was, by far, a key component in our decision to opt for Richard F Mackay. She was thoroughly professional from start to finish. Hollie provided far more insight to the furniture and allowed us to come to our own decision. After negotiations, conducted in a professional and caring way, we settled upon a price we were highly satisfied with. The order having been placed, Hollie then kept us updated throughout the gap between this and the arrival of the furniture.The actual delivery was also first class with the two delivery men taking great care removing our old furniture and setting up our new furniture. This was no easy task due to the unusual design of our house entry. They were mannerly and helpful throughout showing us how to alter the furniture to our particular needs.Since then we have been absolutely delighted with the actual furniture. It is indeed very high quality furniture and all who have seen it in our house have been highly complementary.In conclusion I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Richard F Mackay. I will have no hesitation in returning in future to make further purchases. The range and quality of the merchandise as well as the very high standard of staff make the whole experience quite uplifting.
