The Endeavour
A delightful BnB run by a lovely couple in the almost impossibly perfect little fishing village of Staithes. The room was perfect. As were the breakfast kippers! Couldn’t have been happier

We have just returned from a weekend staying in Staithes, at The Endeavour. We have rated it 5 Stars as it deserves it. David is an excellent host, he looked after us well and the locally sourced breakfasts are cooked to perfection. We loved our room, which had wonderful sea views, including a beautiful sunrise on the first morning! We will definitely be returning.

One of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. Really cosy room, comfy bed, massive TV in the room, all topped off with a fantastic breakfast! David is a brilliant host!

Great little hide away with super host. Perfect breakfast but if you want a shower, avoid the room with the sea view, in effect, there isn't one. Sadly the restaurant is closed and choice is very limited in the rest of Staithes.

Awesome place to stay in staithes. We stayed in the sea view room and its definitely worth it. My wife and i couldn't stop staring out of the window, beautiful. David is fantastic and is always happy to help. Breakfast is great, i had the locally smoked kippers.

Sadly we didn't get to stay as there was a problem (hotels.com fault) with our reservation. David the proprietor was exceptionally helpful and found us somewhere else to stay in the village. This was over and above his responsibility and we shall be forever grateful to him. Thanks again David

We loved our overnight stay with Caroline and Cameron! We have always had a soft spot for Staithes since stumbling across it whilst visiting Saltburn and travelling to Whitby. My partner and I had wanted to stay overnight to make the most of a long weekend opportunity and we wanted to stay with our young Cocker Spaniel which is not always an easy match! Caroline and Cameron established this would be fine and they were both provided clear instructions for our arrival, signposting us to the nearby parking service where you can book in a space for 24 hours at £10. I recommend this although navigating the streets of Staithes if required to drop off luggage is a challenge and needs a confident bit of manoeuvring! The only real challenge we had during our stay was contacting C&C when we arrived, the B&B at the time didnt have a reception and we werent expecting this, it was fine as C&C live in Staithes and picked up our arrival on the Ring doorbell and came to escort us in.The location is stunning, but this does not mean the room and provisions in the hotel are forgotten, we found the space to be cosy, comfortable, and warm. Breakfast was served on a flexible time frame and made to order, the food was excellent and it was nice to speak with Caroline and Cameron about their hosting journey! We stayed in September '22, and the hotel was new to both so we are excited to come again and see how things are developing!

Whilst browsing for a B&B's outside of Whitby, i searched Staithes as the village was recommended by colleagues with experience. The Endeavour seemed perfect but, as i was using a certain booking website, the website stated that 2 adults and a child of 7 yrs age required 2 rooms. Farce! I decided to call David an see what the deal was direct. Not only did he knock a couple of quid off, he also went out of his way to put in a child bed for one of the rooms hence only one room was required. Thank you David.Upon arriving to Staithes after a long journey, we thoroughly enjoyed the village setting, the walk around the mountain side, river and rock beach and adventures and ambiance, the sweet shop and also the pubs in the evening. Staithes is beautiful and welcoming. And The Endeavour B&B being a home away from home was just perfect for our 2 night stay. We should of stayed another night instead of heading to York for one more night before home. The room in the Endeavour had no faults. The room was warm, the hot water in bath boiling, the TV provided and kettle with drinks good. Really no faults for a B&B. I rarely hear the wife and daughter snore after a hard days adventure!!!Davids breakfast was perfect if not just too much for even a hearty eater. You will find no fault with the effort and attitude at breakfast time.Staithes is on a bus route for Whitby which is a 30 minute journey. Consider leaving the car at home as the bus was easy and a family return ticket cheap. It's hard to find a single fault with our 2 day stay, we visited in the worst weather possible but still had the best time ever. If pushed, i would state that the natural alarm clock of the gulls in the morning may annoy some people but for me, it only added to the charm of the holiday.Without a doubt we will revisit. But with an extra day as we will bus the opposite direction to Whitby and visit Saltburn-by-the-sea.Thankyou David for a fantastic Valentines break and an introduction to the Scarborough coast.
