Eastwood Mearns Taxis

Two young out of town 16 year old apprentices abandoned by this company . 16:50 to meet the train at hairmyers . The driver phoned the boys and said to go to hospital wven though it was booked for the train station . Boys did as requested to then be left in the torrential rain even though it was booked two days prior for the train station . Waited an hour but no show . SHOCKING

That's twice I've now used it and it's always way more than the estimate. Even when traffic etc are not hat bad. Today it was estimated at £11 and came to £15. That is a big difference. Will. Not be using again

Charged way more than estimate on the app, car stank of cigarettes and driver wouldn’t put up window even tho it was pissing down. Wouldn’t use again

Thought I'd booked an airport pickup however when I landed there was no car. I called them & was told that my flight number hadn't been recognised. I explained that I'd spoken to someone & gave my flight details. I was advised that they'd have a car with me soon. They did. Also good price for journey.

Prompt service that can be booked online in advance. Good price for a run to the airport.

If I could give zero stars I would. Booked a 5am taxi via the app on Friday 22/9/23 to take me to Glasgow Airport. Bear in mind this is the September weekend folks. Hyper busy. My flight is at 7am. Boarding at 06:20. I’m a belt n braces guy so at 5am I phone to check all is ok. Only then I’m told taxi will be a while and they’re looking to get me one!Just at that, a Eastwood Mearns taxi pulls up outside my front door. I’m standing in the porch. I watch him do a three point turn and as he’s facing me I wave to the driver who looks at me, continues his three point turn and drives off!I run out into my short street to see him disappear around a corner at the bottom and he’s gone.I try phoning again but this time the controller is refusing to answer. It rings and rings and rings. Nothing.I consult the app. A driver is eventually assigned but will be twenty minutes! It’s now 05:18am. It’s going to be at least 05:40 before taxi arrives. I see a number for driver and call him direct. He is polite but a little evasive about his ETA and I explain the time it’ll take us to get to airport, the time it’ll take me to get through security and I’m not sure we’re going to make it in time for boarding. His response is to suggest phoning controller and asks if I want to cancel. I say no to that.Repeated calls to controller just ring out. Eventually, at 05:45, 45 mins after scheduled time, I give up, jump in my car and drive to the airport where because of the last minute nature of things I’m forced to use the short stay. In the meantime Eastwood Mearns cancelled my taxi, vindicating my decision.£150 the short stay cost me. I was stressed out of my nut and as predicted the airport was chocka with huge queues at security. I made my flight but not without huge cost in terms of money and stress.I will never use this taxi company again. I will make sure friends and family don’t either. Up to you what you do dear friends, but other taxi companies are available.

Estimated £17 taxi - was £26!!! Nearly £10 more expensive . Driver took the motorway & took a very long route and we had to pay the difference. Not the first time either won’t be using again. £15 taxi home. Ridiculous on a Tuesday night

Booked a pickup at Glasgow airport a month in advance as needed a large people carrier for six with numerous bags for a 2:30am arrival. Booking was confirmed but when calling on arrival was told they could not supply the people carrier and that only two smaller cars could be provided at twice the cost and with 30 minutes between availability of the two. No message in advance or warning this might happen. Ridiculous way to do business, I will never be using Eastwood Mearns Taxis again.

AVOID!! taxi driver harassing local resident using the EV chargers. One driver approached my husbands car twice banging on the window shouting there “was no point charging the car past 80%” and that he was “being selfish”, yet here is the driver charging private hire prices using FREE CHARGERS, I doubt this discount will be passed on to customers - who’s the selfish one?!! My husband needs 100% battery for hospital visits throughout the week for a serious degenerative condition - when my husband told him to go away he was threatened! Your driver behaved like an absolute thug and displayed alarming behaviour - circling himself throwing his arms about and threatening to “knock him out”! Also watch out he also thinks he’s Rocky Balboa with his promised one punch knock outs - grow up! Hopefully this guy is a bad apple and not a reflection of the other drivers- Eastwood should vet who they let endorse their company. I was tempted to phone the police to submit dash cam footage but not wasting another minute on this grown man acting like a petulant child.
