Ridgeway Arms
Ordered 2 steaks, couldn’t cut through with steak knives. Told a lovely lad called Billy and he got the steaks changed. Was given 2 new meals but steaks still weren’t good. Took meat home for dog!! Was refunded for the meals. Had apple pie and custard, pastry wasn’t good as been microwaved. Cannot fault Billy but don’t think we will be going back for food any time soon.

Me and my Dad had a fantastic time, we only popped in for a meal and a drink but the young staff this afternoon were fab. made us laugh and feel right at home.thank you and we be visiting again soon. x

I've given the Ridgeway Arms a 4* rating, simply because I would never give a food chain 5*. My future wife and I always enjoy the steak fondue sharer (love it). Friendly atmosphere with sports on the tvs around the place.At the end of the day it's a Flaming Grill so you know what to expect really.Also a decent function room to hire upstairs.

Beautiful building and grounds,huge carpark and very impressive beer garden with outdoor TV screen.We called in Sunday dinner time and were given a friendly greeting by the bar staff, they served us straight away and we ordered three meals and a starter.Within a couple of minutes of finishing the starters our main meal arrived. Both starter and the main meals looked great,were piping hot and tasted great and the waiting staff checked everything was ok twice.Very impressive,a great experience, highly recommend and I would return.

Hired for a wedding reception. Convenient venue but shambolic management.All went smoothly at first and booking was paid, £750. I was then contacted saying there was an additional fee of £120 to have the time from 4pm which was never mentioned. Asked for proof of this but none was given. Went back again a fortnight before the wedding and saw the pub manager who talked with me about decorating the room. I was told by him that the backdrop I was wanting couldn't be put directly on a wall so it didn't damage the paintwork which was fine. He helped me find an appropriate place to put it and said he was free the day before the event to help set up the room. I also asked about bringing the cake and was told that was fine as there was a cake fridge to keep it overnight.Arrived to decorate at the agreed time the evening before and the manager was not there. The room was dirty from another function and nothing was in place. The staff were unaware I was coming and were not free to help apart from approx 10 minutes. I was then told the backdrop could not be used. This was via a text from the assistant manager to the staff there. I was told they couldn't keep the cake either.A friend took the cake the morning of the wedding and asked whether the backdrop had been put up as agreed by the pub manager. She spoke with the assistant manager. My friend's feedback was that the assistant manager was beyond rude, saying she was in charge and it wasn't wasn't happening.The two staff on the actual evening who ran the function were lovely and they were thanked profusely. They made the evening enjoyable.I returned the following day to collect items and was met with absolute disregard. It was a really negative atmosphere and no help was offered. I can only assume that now they had money from the evening there was no need to bother with me.

We come for lunch every Thursday and it’s always great service and food. Just had lasagne with a lovely salad with roasted peppers, courgette as well as the normal items. Great value and service every time!
