Walked out before ordering anything! A member of staff collected the plates on our table left by a previous customer but didn’t return to clean the table. Cafe not even full and after 15 mins of no staff member taking our order we decided to leave. We thought if they take this long to take an order we’d be waiting ages for the food. Shame as we like to support local independent cafes

No welcome, very little atmosphere (despite previous replies from owner music would help the stony silence). Waitress friendly. Ordered flat white coffee, got a cappuccino (not the end of the world), small portions, insufficient tea leaves in teapot so it wouldn't brew properly. Worst aspect: lack of cleaning in toilet, walls dirty, untouchable. Kitchen grubby, worktops seen to be dusty, floor disgusting, cook walking breadcrumbs all over the floor. Not intending to return unless cleaning and food hygiene improve considerably. Such a shame.

An ok cafe but seems to be a little tired and neglected. Menus scruffy, food ok but nothing special and toilet’s definitely not had a proper clean for a while (thick dust and cobwebs on walls rather than the toilet itself being dirty). With a little effort this could be a nice wee cafe - shame as the only independent open on Sundays.

Tables clean, Cream tea was excellent, hot pot of tea, warm scone(fruit and plain available), pots of homemade jam and pot of cream ( more than enough for what was needed for 2 halves of a scone). Service was quick and pleasant

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning as very few alternatives available. Opened sharply at 11am, as advertised, with mainly panini options.Food was fine, although nothing special. Service was friendly, but not very professional. (If someone serves you coffee but slops the top part into your saucer as they put it down, you expect at least an acknowledgement, if not an apology.)The place filled up rapidly after opening, so maybe others’ experiences were better? Nothing wrong with the place but an average 3-star review.

Dog friendly and tasty looking light lunch menu enticed me in. Ordered quiche & salad and almond milk hot chocolate. Slow to get drink as young girl thought the boy asking her to make it was asking for himself not a customer order , which was odd given they are running a cafe. Drink arrived eventually but did not taste like it had been made with almond milk. Quiche had a raw pastry bottom. Whilst I was In the cafe the team of 4 staff were very chatty amongst themselves about non cafe topics which was easy to hear as the kitchen/dining area is open plan. Moreattention to service is needed from this team. Went to pay and I asked about the milk used for my drink as I had left it undrinkable. No apology offered just insistence correct milk had been used as the drink served to me was quite watery which apparently is a characteristic of almond milk!! Charged full price for leaving a full drink. Again better customer service needed. I am not local but left Ginger Cafe and saw 3 chain coffee houses in close proximity - bought an almond milk hot choc takeaway where service and price was much better than local independent. That saddens me as I much prefer to support independents. Come on Ginger Nut get your act together.

Lovely little café that gets busy. Goats cheese and caramelised onion quiche was super tasty, the lentil and tomato soup the same. Paninis fresh and well filled. All in all a very pleasant experience.

I've just had the tiniest lunch I've ever been served, here. A tiny slice of quiche with a dessertspoonful of coleslaw lost on a side plate. It was delicious but I feel really ripped off.
