Great place to exercise be it a walk, Cycle or a run on this former Railway route. Flat and Straight as can be. Signs and notices of interest along the route. Also to note a Scale layout of the Planets and Solar System makes the activity more interesting.

Glad they have sorted out this path. It really needed doing. Tree roots damaged it. Plus after my breast cancer I found it difficult to cycle on. It hurt my breast... Had to stand up on my bike on the worse bits. But looks loads better now. And looks a lot wider. And I know that it's not this pages problem. PLEASE Cyclists that have BELLS on your bicycles. Use them. Don't just go flying past thinking that people that are walking know that you are behind them. You have to think of others. And Horse Riders. A small little ping without scaring the Horses would be nice.

Terrible in places, between Clifton and bridge and first cattle grid room for one bike only, poor maintainable. Rawcliffe landings to Stripe lane again very overgrown in parts making cycling difficult, hopefully it will be cut back soon or it will only be passable to walkers.

Brilliant cycle path. Took grandson. He was impressed with finding the planets. Even though a couple were missing and gone for repair. Took plenty of photos.

Been really enjoying getting out on bikes more and this is a frequent route. Only problems are that the cycle path is quite narrow at some points making it hard to pass people and in parts the path has been pushed up by tree routes to the point that it’s quite painful to cycle over them

Great route, mostly flat and no cars. The solar system makes a great addition and I really love the sculpture on the bridge over the Ouse.

This old railway track is one of our favourite rides. We first discovered it in 2012 and have been visiting from outside the area to park in Riccall and ride to York and back regularly ever since. It has become more important this year due to the plague and the ongoing restrictions as with any outdoor activity it is a welcome distraction to the stresses of life and a real moral booster. The route has been open since 1987 and sadly is showing signs of deterioration due to ground slippage and tree roots causing damage which makes some sections uneven. Hopefully this will be rectified in the near future but in the meantime we will continue to enjoy the route.
