The Spice Lounge
I live over 150 miles away, but when I am in the area or nearby I make a detour to have a meal at the Spice Lounge in Derby. The ambiance and atmosphere is so comfortable, the staff are so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. A particular dish is my favourite, Chicken Mossomon. It has a gorgeous mouthwatering taste and it’s the best Indian dish I have ever tasted and is unique to the Spice Lounge. Nowhere else cooks this dish and it has been withdrawn from the menu. I am Indian from my father my father who was born in Bombay and my mother Ceylon and it is such a shame that this dish is no longer available as it was the best Indian dish I have ever tasted. I will see if they can prepare it for me next time I visit. Top class restaurant, I recommend it.

First visit. Lovely food, friendly staff. The food arrived promptly but I did feel a bit rushed - I suppose they can't win really! We ordered water for the table which we didn't get but I am sure we would have if we'd followed it up. The food was delicious and the decor really modern and welcoming. I would recommend and I will definitely go again.

Been a loyal customer for many years, eating in and ordering takeaway. Went in tonight for the early bird. Waiters took their time to come and serve us, eventually took our drinks order but then came and told us they weren't going to serve us after one of our friends was stretching his back injury. Felt very ganged up on with 3 staff members at the table. Got up and left and will not be coming back.

Truly amazing restaurant. Definitely the best Indian restaurant I've been to and the best chicken I've had, ever. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were great - good sense of humour and the service was excellent. Not bad priced at all either for the amazing food and service you get. Would definitely recommend and will be going again.Shout out to the staff member who reminded me I ID'd him for a Redbull at the shop I work at!

First visit since restaurant has been refurbished. Pleasant and clean decor. Waitress was told a few times that we were on early bird but she still brought out drinks that were not part of the deal. Was told that the onion bhajis were NOT gluten free but menu said they were. Again I ask the question, why can't you serve up gluten free popadoms?? The Viceroy does....Limited choice of gluten free options.Food was good. However, was overcharged by nearly £20 and had to remind staff again that we were on early bird so bill was eventually corrected.Such a shame we had a rather disappointing experience.

Just been to spice lounge!!! Took time to serve us, then finally ordered drinks. The waiter came over and asked if one of our party was ok, he was just stretching his bad back!!!! Waiter very aggressive and said he wouldn’t serve us. We did nothing wrong and have never been treated with such disrespect

The Price Lounge has always been our favourite Indian restaurant in Derby. Food is delicious, portions are generous and the Early Bird menu is excellent value for money. Customer service is always top notch. During our most recent visit, my partner bought a naan that turned out to be too spicy; not only were we given a replacement naan, but staff were kind enough to not let us pay for it. The restaurant has also been recently renovated and I really like the openness" of the restaurant. Overall great experience every time we visit."

I have had a variety of currys from here over the last couple of years (take away) and every single one has been fabulous. The tandoori salmon is some of the best fish I've ever had, anywhere! Fresh, flacky and packed full of flavour. It's an absolute must try. Rice, perfectly spiced. Onion bhaji and nans, fabulous! I had the lamb dupiaza this time. The lamb was tender, and the curry itself was packed full of papers and onions in a fabulous onion sauce, beautifully spiced and flavoured. The Spice lounge is a real must go to if you're in Derby and want a 5 star curry!

The Spice Lounge always does lovely curries (especially the Jalpati which is a personal favourite)!Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff who offer great service - what more could you wish for??!!
