This is a good library with a good selection of books. It is very convenient for the local bus services and is about ten walk from Ellesmere port railway station.

The only 'quiet area' was filled with groups who seemed to think it was a social event. Very loud and disruptive for the people attempting to work and read- there should be a silent room further away from the cafe..

Absolute nightmare finding the entrance if you are coming in from the ASDA side, needs signposts or you end up walking round all the dead ends and closed entrances. Staff very friendly and helpful. The library is a bit shabby and in need of repair. Quite a few other (council) businesses on site. Free parking limited, pay as you park is available outside main entrance.

The cafe within the main section of the library makes the place noisy and difficult to work. Students from the local school hang-out around the tables lining the bookshelves, again, adding to the noise. The reference library, which is usually the place for peace, is now upstairs and has been merged with the support office in an open-plan structure. Not sure who's bright idea that was, but it's even noisier than downstairs!Selection wise, there are a decent amount of fiction books available, but I either order them to my small local library or go to Storyhouse in Chester if I want to get some serious work done.

Visited here the other week haven’t been here in years. The staff here are absolutely shocking rude and arrogant. I wasn’t allowed to sit at the computer space next to my friend with my laptop to study due to Covid even though there was hardly anyone using the space. I think the rude lady’s name was ‘Jo’ her attitude stank and she needs to learn basic customer service. We later went to the Storyhouse in Chester where I normally go the staff here are amazing, friendly and know what they’re doing I also felt a lot safer in this environment so big well done to Storyhouse in comparison to the staff at Ellesmere Port Library and especially Jo who was behind me trying to take the seat from me as I was standing up absolutely shocking get a new job you should be fired as you made me feel humiliated and embarrassed which you shouldn’t make me feel and the old lady who asked for a seat also was very embarrassed that I had to move.

The girl who was on reception was very helpful. I needed to print a label from an email & she sorted it out for me.xx

Cafe attached makes it hard to work with people chatting right there. Also only one toilet which was out of order once so had to walk to the civic hall.

Not bad can be a little noisy if you want a quiet place to study. I now go to Chester as there are quiet areas. Shame Ellesmere Port got rid of the reference library. Which was a great area to revise or study for school, college or university.

Staff are friendly and helpful most of the time, can get a bit busy, if your looking to find a quiet space to study it can be ok upstairs. Prices for printing and Internet are reasonable.
