We had a breakfast, one was a bit too fancy my breakfast was lovely but no gluten free sausage in the vegetarian breakfast, gluten free toast, good selection of breakfasts, nice coffee and welcoming staff

The fish finger sandwich was a disappointment. The fish was nice but didn't cover much of the bread. I also didn't like the pesto being added.

The best place to eat breakfast in Poulton. Just had Turkish eggs which was new on the menu. Amazing! Two poached eggs, a spiced yoghurt, smashed avocado served on a pita. Definitely having that again

Quite honestly disgusted. I visited today in the afternoon and it was very busy. This doesn't bother me apart from the fact that there is no space to queue so we end up blocking the paths. While queuing the person in front of us asked for raspberry and strawberry sorbet in a tub. The server only gives them raspberry and when she is corrected she scoops some raspberry out and places it back into it's original container despite it being handled. We also saw the lady drop a scoop of ice cream into a different container before scooping it back up and handing it to a customer. What if the customer had been allergic to the other ice cream that his had come into contact with? When it came to our turn we witnessed the fact that the server did not clean the scoops between each flavor. Does the shop not know about cross contamination?Overall the service was lack luster and the hygiene appalling. I am aware they're understaffed but really they should provide a better experience considering the price.

On my most recent visit on 30 August, the service was very efficient, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The interior of New Penny is lovely, having had a full refit a couple of years ago. The seats are comfy and there is lots of space on the tables. There are lots of savoury and sweet options on the menu, I had the banana split with mint choc chip and rum and raisin. The ice cream is made by New Penny and you can tell this as the ice cream is smooth and of a high quality. The dessert met expectations but I thought the portion sizes could have been slightly bigger given the cost.I think the prices are quite high looking at comparisons with other local firms such as Wallings (and I say that as someone who lives very close to Central London and is used to paying a premium). However, I understand this given the high cost of milk and dairy products at the moment.I have previously had the ice creams to take away and these are also very nice, at 2.85 with a flake they make for a worthy occasional treat. You get a wide choice of flavours (normally around 15). Portions for take-out are more generous.

This is without a doubt one of the best places in Poulton for breakfast! The service and atmosphere is highly welcoming, with the décor enhancing the warm friendly feeling throughout. Both the breakfast waffles and pancakes are awesome and will leave you craving for them again.Food and drink is presented to an amazing standard, while also at a very good cost of the quality and quantity served.

Always enjoy dining at The New Penny! Lovely food and drinks. I had the caramel iced latte and a bacon, brie and cranberry panini. Decently priced and service was good.

Went this afternoon and it took longer then expected to be served considering we were the only people there. While seated heard staff talking about the fact they weren't displaying signs they had been told to by environmental health and that they could get in trouble for it. Then heard staff talk about the fact the appliances hasn't been moved even though they should of been for the deal clean that supposedly happened the week before.
