The Scratching Post Cat Rescue Shelter
I adopted two cats from this place three years ago, the home check and adoption process went very smooth. Unfortunately one of my cats passed suddenly of natural cause, so I visited them today to look for a companion for my resident cat, and hope to be adopting from here soon. Friendly staff/volunteers, the cats look well cared for. I recommend adopting from the scratching post cat shelter.

This is a lovely cat shelter taking very good care of cats in need. If you feel about adopting a new cat, give them a visit, they are lovely people.

The best shelter. You can see that they really love and care about the kitties. The lady whom I handed my donation to was very nice, and I was able to see some of the kitties. She also gave me great advice regarding my own cat

Amazing place. I have rescued my last 10 cats from there and even rehomed one to a friend of mine. So compassionate. Advice is truthful and they will match you with a cat that suits and not by colour or age.

tracy was rude and showed now empathy and only contacted us about whether we had the cats or not because we asked, she was very mean and has upset us a little

Absolutely fantastic charity who do amazing work. All of the staff and volunteers are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The cats are so well looked after and loved. If you're ever looking to rehome a cat or kitten I'd definitely recommend contacting The Scratching Post. All cats are vaccinated and given treatment needed etc before going to their forever homes. The Charity also has a shop in the same town which raises vital funds and sells top quality second hand goods. It's definitely worth a visit.

A lovely shelter for cats in need. We adopted a beautiful tortoiseshell girl and couldn't be happier. That staff were friendly, the process was easy and the cats all seemed happy and well cared for

Only those with the money and privilege to own a private garden can adopt a cat. Otherwise you have no chance. Although cats in private gardens can still go missing.

Wonderful place - cats are looked after and spoilt amazingly. We rescued a beautiful friendly young cat from here who has settled in really well with our small dog at home. Would recommend anyone to get a cat from here rather than anywhere else and they also have kittens. Please don't encourage amateur breeders/farmers by buying kittens from just anywhere. The Scratching Post health check all their cats etc too so you know exactly what you are getting - unlike kitten farming with continuous vet bills throughout. Funded by donations too, so if you have anything spare please........

Excellent cat shelter. I found my best friend Widdy here. I asked for the shelter to choose a cat for me. I wanted the cat to be very friendly and interactive. I have another cat Molly, so the new cat had to be able to get on with other cats. Widdy settled and has become a wonderful confident clean cat. I will be taking him camping with my two other cats and my dog. We are so happy. The process took about 14 days in total. There was a thorough vetting procedure. We now have a stray cat moved in which Widdy invited. We have other cats wait daily for Widdy outside as they want to play with him. He is so special, so lovely.
