Galleywall Nature Reserve is an oasis of beauty and calm, amidst urban chaos. I was on the original steering committee, before it's inception. I can view from my kitchen window and it's quite lovely. I suggest you visit it on it's opening days, most Sundays in the month, but particularly in the Spring and Summer.

Hey lovely quirky place to go and learn about nature

I live near here and all they do is burn fires for hours everyweek it is horrible it comes in to our property and isnt healthy the whole house smells of fire i have to shut my windows in summer which isnt ok when they are burning these fires as i have young children and to stop my new borns bedding smelling of fire really unhealthy for the environment and everyone who lives local health!!! I litreally feel like im suffocating in my own home Something needs to be done! It seems like a get together place for the people who look after it more then the locals i only see that they open it up for the local school which is good but otherwise they are always having there own private little get togethers and parties which they love to burn fires at every other day!

Great spot for families, especially on their monthly open days. Visited for the first time yesterday. The organisers and volunteers are very friendly and welcoming. It is a very local community which is open to newcomers of all ages. Friends with children joined and the volunteers took out nets to dip for bugs in the dipping pond, along with an insect info sheet and magnifying glasses to identify what we found. Lots of wild strawberries, an allotment and bug hotels. A very peaceful and well maintained nature reserve in the heart of Bermondsey.
