PureGym Saffron Walden

I have been coming to the gym for a few months now and take some of the classes which are great. Pure Gym. SW is a friendly place. However I didn’t have a lot of confidence to use the equipment in the gym and started seeing a PT, Sean, who has been fantastic. He is so knowledgeable and patient and I would recommend anyone thinking of using a PT to contact Sean.

Been training here for approximately 3 years but I’m soon going to leave.During covid times things were great, staff would say hello and PT’s would chat to you. The manager would be stood by the front door working saying Hi to everyone. Now they huddle by the vending machine ignoring their customers.Since then the what seems to be bi monthly change in staff don’t acknowledge customers, and the swarm of teenagers that flock to the gym at around 2pm every day go completely unchecked when they’re messing around, training in jeans, not putting weights back or even worse training incorrectly and risking injury - which should be corrected by staff - in my opinion they have a duty of care to people.Showers have been ice cold for months with signs up saying that the problem is soon to be fixed, I think now (Feb 2023) it’s back to a slightly warm.Pictures attached are how things are most days, cleanliness was never an issue here but it appears to have gone completely down hill.I’ve stayed because of 24/7 opening and location but I’ll soon be looking to change gyms.

Very friendly and welcoming environment to get fit in. The classes push you but are enjoyable and really lead to results. The instructors are professional, knowledgeable and friendly and great in the classes. The equipment is also very clean and tidy. I would strongly recommend this gym.

I have PT with Sean, he is brilliant I feel he really listened to what I wanted from my training and made a plan to help me in them areas! I feel more confident in the gym and stranger than ever! 100% recommend

Have been coming to PureGym SW for a few years now, which has great range in facilities and easy parking. good atmosphere and the app allows you to avoid peak times. This year decided to give personal training a go with Sean Donelan at PureGym and have seen amazing results. Sean keeps me accountable whilst delivering a fully personalised training plan. Feeling the strongest I have been in a long time! Would strongly recommend this if you are pursuing a fitness goal.

Never knew I’d become a gym bunny but I love going with my fiancé. Never feel intimidated by the hardcore gym goers. It’s a great friendly atmosphere excellent equipment and clean throughout.

Great gym and nice environment to train in. Good personal trainers and friendly.

I go at 5am to beat the crowd and that usually works, though it is starting to get busy in the morning. The biggest issue is that I need to have a quick shower before going to work. The showers have had a sign up for at least a month saying that hot water will take “a minute” and that the plumbers are looking into it. That “minute” is a lot closer to 10 mins. The sign has been up for at least a month, and the overnight temperatures being cold now means that a shower is ice cold in the morning.The showers are fixed at this point and I’m adding a star. It still takes quite a while for warm water to get through.

Gym shower ICE cold even after 20mins. I joined this gym on the 3rd Nov… there was a sign up then saying there was an issue with the shower then - a month and a half later it is still far from fixed. There’s also no water in the hot tap.I would recommend this gym if you don’t plan to shower here or expect hot water when washing your hands!
