This was the bad experience ever I had with dentist they don’t respect patients and people they have zero tolerance about people and about sickness I had one appointment on second of November and then I was very poorly. I was in hospital with 41 high fever that day and they took they took off me out from the list and I couldn’t have more any chances to book another appointment with dentist. I give them a call every day to speak with manager and they lying at me. The manager is not here this week or next week. They have a very bad behaviour and very bad tolerance.

This review is for my last appointment which was in April/ May. I was going to originally write to the practice manager but thought to address this so that people can read my experience.I have been with this practice for over 2 decades I believe, from when they were at wellington square.I had always been with Dr Ali, but when she left I was moved onto another dentist, who to be honest I was ok with.In March/April, this year, 3 months after having my baby, I got excruciating pain in my back molar tooth. After enduring the pain for a few days, I got an emergency appointment at the dentist, who then ended up giving me antibiotics. 2 weeks later I already had an appointment with my original dentist. This is when the issue started, the dentist checked my teeth, did a tooth extension ( which has broken off multiple times) and checked the rest of the teeth and said we see you next time. I was baffled as I knew my back tooth required treatment, so I mentioned this ! This is when I just felt like a number! The dentist failed to check the notes and only when I mentioned, they said I needed a root canal. No further tests or x-rays, simply told to book in root canal.I was still in pain and wanted this to be done pretty quickly, but this is when you get treated as a second class nhs patient citizen! I was told I would get an appointment 8 weeks later! Given I wasn’t happy with the dentist I asked to be treated by someone else. The receptionist said this wouldn’t be possible as nhs patients, in other words do not have the privilege to change dentist. Again baffled given patient choice, I asked for this to be checked. Receptionist said she would check and get back to me for the dentist I requested. I ended up ringing the following day as they failed to get back to me and was told the dentist refused to take any more nhs patients and was only taking on private patients! Meaning within the practice, as a registered patient I could not move!In the end I feel like this surgery and the experience they put me through left me with no choice but to seek second opinion. I went for private tests and found I required a root canal and best option was to go with a specialist due to bent nerves! I also had a hole in another tooth and also required a hygienist! All not picked up by my current dentist.Due to the pain I went for the root canal treatment by a specialist. As a patient who was entitled to free nhs treatment whilst on my maternity leave, looking after a young baby, in lots of pain! Have been made to pay nearly £1500 in private treatment because my current practice who I have been with over 20 years! Failed me as a patient and flushed patient choice down the toilet. It makes me sad to think a person who had a chance to get free treatment had to pay this amount of money to get rid of the pain so she could take care of her baby and be present. No dentist should ever treat patients like a number! And nhs patients should be allowed to have the choice to change dentist within the practice ! Having worked in nhs, I know how important patient choice is.I hope senior management at this practice take my review as shortcomings in their service and do something about the issues raised!

I have waited more than a year to register with them between of this year. Whenever I had a problem I go as a privately to pay for them, but since when I register when I want to make an appointment they always saying we don’t have no doctors. If you want to book it privately we can do it for you but it’s just disappointed so how are you got a doctors when I pay privately but when I pay under NHS you don’t have no doctors I went to the surgery I speak with the manager I was thinking she will be sort out my problem but when I went there she was so so rude, and she had no manners at all And I told her I want to make an eye complain. How can I do that she saying I’m the main manager you complain to me so once you don’t have no manners how can I make a complaint to her if anybody or manager management team seen this review contact me I will give you all details please

I would just like to say how great the practice is. From the Dental Receptionist to the Dental Nurse that supported me today. I think her name is Ashley. I also want to add that Dr Oros is absolutely brilliant. In my experience and opinion he is the best dentist that I have had. Thank you Derby Rd Dental Practice.

Awful service, especially at the reception where they always talk in a pretentious tone and there always seem to be an issue with something.Got email about removing me from the patient list unless I come for a checkup and pay for it, so I went and paid for it (to prevent from removing me from the list) but still have been removed from the patient list without an even an option to come back and the money have not been refunded to me.Asked them about their complaints procedure and they were not able to provide me with it - they told me to google it yourself"!I'm in agreement with other reviewers - it's been OK up to about a year ago when Dr Ali left (I've been her patient for years!) - after that it all went downhill.Even though the receptionist pretentious tone was always an issue

this dental is bad. I attended to their appointment in 2021 August, due to right side tooth issue. I can not eat by that side. They diagnosed wrong and filling some hole. After they finished all,I still can not eat by right side. And now my right side tooth getting worse, need to root canal treatment. Very disappointed

This dental practice deserves zero stars. The receptionists deliberately make appointments without telling you so when you miss 2 appointments they can de-register you and get new clients. Very poor communication! Definitely avoid as staff are unprofessional. The practice does not care about their patient's needs. They lack empathy. You'll have more luck going to your local boots and buying a dental kit and fixing your own teeth as clearly this practice is all about money. I wasn't treated as a patient/human being, I was treated as a number - nothing more. Their disregard for my dental treatment was abhorrent!

Dr Tara and her colleagues they are all brilliant doctors, I cant really imagine how much she is kind and professional. I didnt feel any pain with either RCT treatment or other kind of treatment. I wish if I can register all my family members with her. I Will stay forever with her. Many Thanks Darling.
